  1. we should #tariff #cishet #white #men using the terms "white #feminism" and "#karen" and complaining about white #women next

  2. I swear to all the #gods that only #white people are capable of turning anything into a #religion. To anyone reasonable, #science is a method that allows us to proceed along the search for truth using nature as the source of our #evidence and never just our own #reason.

Meanwhile, #cishet white #dudes in #horror stories are like, "I've been experiencing obvious and unquestionably horrific #demonic influence that has been #traumatizing to every member of my #family. But I am a #man of reason, and that is why I have chosen to ignore the #experiences of every single one of my family members and my own. Because the #demon has been actively occluding any evidence of their influence, and that means there is no evidence, which clearly means nothing is happening and all of us are suffering from mass #psychosis and just need to breathe and calm down."

It's literally wild to watch that kind of motivated #reasoning in action.

(And by white, I mean anyone that identifies as white. Light-skinned Europeans who are anti-racist and actively reject their white privilege also seem to know better.)

  4. Hey, fellow cis-het folks, now that it's pride month:
When did you first realize you had LGBTQI+ people around you? How old were you, when was it?

For me, it was after high school, at a part-time job in telemarketing, I had an openly gay colleague. I'd say around 2001-ish.

  5. #CisHet people are so obsessed with what roles #Queer couples fall into and it gets exhausting trying to cut through their bullshit. It’s communication and support you dumbasses! Beyond that we get to define how we fit into our relationships and we’re not monolithic about it. The straights need to examine why they’re so obsessed with gender roles.

  6. I'd like to ask #cishet members of the #GuylinerBrethern:

Is it easier for you to socialise now, than say 5 years ago?

Can you socialise without people making assumptions or freaking out?

Do you feel confortable wearing something that a suffocating soceity says is so-called 'female' (nail polish, long well-groomed hair, certain colours, certain articles of clothing, make up, etc)

  7. People are sharing #comingout stories.

I grew up poor in the rural Midwest and was bullied by ya typical straights for that, my gayness, and probably also for being #neurodivergent.

My parents were #secular, but my #father flickered between laughing at "gay jokes" and telling me he didn't mind gay people. Generally, we were too concerned with paying bills and not losing our home to even deal with gay issues. We had one #out gay in school, but he was different from me (many ways braver). I watched his #torment and desired to simply get out of that hell place. I always knew I was #gay, but I didn't feel I owed anyone that admission. If you've ever hurriedly asked someone if they're gay before they tell you, I hope you reflect on that. Maybe you stole that opportunity from them, and made it more difficult. I often wonder about #cishet dudes who are allies now, but sweep their previous transgressions under the rug out of shame. Including #bystander awkward laughter at #homophobia.
