From August Sander’s People of the Twentieth Century a portfolio of Traveling People – Fair and Circus, photographed between 1926-1932. The German photographer did not attempt to capture his countrymen performing stupendous feats, but instead presented the circus workers as citizens, shown in their home and with a family of their own choosing.
