I grew up reading lots of T-shirt #upcycling books (like "Generation T"), and got Adiff's "Open Source Fashion Cookbook" a while back. Some of the cookbook's "recipes" use umbrella fabric as a base.

used cloth from a decluttering sale, flour sacks for the lining, recycled buttons from old shirts, and pattern from sew.mii. shorts are thrifted and repaired.

struggled with the construction a bit but learned a lot about clean seams and lining; also the first time I used buttons in a project.

realized I forgot to take a proper photo until we got to the train station, thus:
