#vendredilecture avec #MizubayashiAkira #水林章, écrivain japonais qui n’écrit qu’en français, parmi les livres de la rentrée littéraire avec son énième roman, mais plus que l’œuvre fictive c’est « Une langue venue d’ailleurs » (Gallimard 2011, Folio depuis 2013) qui mérite d’attention : autobiographie linguistique, récit d’apprentissage de quelqu’un « né au japonais, vivant en français » comme le suggère la version japonaise de ce livre, mais dans l’original il dit (avec #Cioran) qu’il « habite » la langue comme si elle était un endroit vers lequel on peut déménager. Pour souligner sa familiarité avec le français il l’appelle sa « langue paternelle »... 1/2

Seuls sont heureux ceux qui ne pensent que le minimum nécessaire pour vivre. La vraie pensée ressemble à un démon qui trouble les sources de la vie. Se poser des problèmes capitaux à tout bout de champ, être épuisé par ses pensées et par sa propre existence ;c’est être malheureux au point que la pensée vous donne envie de vomir et que la réflexion vous apparaît comme une damnation.

Młodzieńcze dzieło Ciorana pięknie wpisuje się w cały egzystencjalizm. Wskazuje absurd i rozpacz towarzyszące świadomemu istnieniu ale w żaden sposób nie odpowiada na pytanie „Po co właściwie to wszystko?”. I dobrze. Prawdopodobnie odpowiedź nie istnieje, a próby jej udzielenia w wykonaniu – powiedzmy – Camusa czy Nietzschego, okazały się bardzo słabe i łatwe do obalenia.

I usually struggle to understand philosophy, so I’ve always kind of stayed away from the subject. But Amazon, of all entities, put ‘The Trouble with Being Born’ by Emil Cioran in my book recommendations, likely because I’ve been reading some books lately about atheism and grief and depression (lovely combo). Decided to buy it on a whim. And hoo boy. Turns out I might be a nihilist lol.
