  1. THE 90s KIDS WIN BIG! the New Street Fighter Movie Delivers

What is up, everyone! It’s Andeh here, and I have some urgent, hyper-vital news for all of you.
I just got back from seeing the brand-new Street Fighter movie, and oh my god, guys… guys!!!!!
If you are one of the homies who used to kick back in the garage, cracking open a few brews and tearing each other apart on the Xbox, or if you spent your youth in dark, noisy arcades desperately putting your quarters down on the machine glass to mark your spot for the next match—do not sleep on this movie. Go see it right now!

It’s the 90s SF Movie We Always Wanted
Let’s be real for a second: most of us grew up with a deep, ironic love for the hilariously bad, wonderfully campy 1994 live-action original movie. It’s a nostalgic masterpiece in its own “so bad it’s good” way. But we always wanted something that captured the true, punch-to-the-gut energy of the actual franchise.

This new movie? It is exactly the Street Fighter film we wanted in our youth.
It is absolutely packed with respect for the source material. The filmmakers knew exactly who they were making this for, and they packed the screen with a ton of head nods and deep-cut references to both the old movie and the games. Walking into the theater, I felt like I was back in the day with a controller in hand, ready to unleash a Hadouken.
Speaking of the action, the visual execution is top-tier.

It does something special with its 2D-meets-live-action style: a hybrid mix of classic Capcom animation aesthetic seamlessly blended with real-life motion. The result is a hyper-kinetic, living game experience that makes every round-house kick and special move feel like it was ripped straight off the screen.

Animated Flashbacks? A Pure 90s Anime Nod!
One of the absolute highlights for me—and something I was hyped to see—was how they handled character backstories. In a brilliant move, they used animated flashbacks to tell their histories!

To me, this felt like a direct, huge nod to the legendary 1994 Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie that we all wore out on VHS back in the day. It was such a cool, anime-inspired touch that added so much flavor and respect to the overall story.

Plus, as an awesome opening day bonus, the theater handed out some sweet freebies on the way in! I scored a Chun-Li “Fast as Lightning” badge and a killer Japanese-style poster featuring Ryu screaming, Chun-Li, Guile, Vega, and Bison. That poster is already going straight up on my studio wall.

    The Verdict
This isn’t just a film; it’s a celebration of where we came from. It is a total love letter to the fighting game era, full of heart, incredible fights, and a visual style that will make any gamer’s heart skip a beat.
Don’t wait for streaming on this one. Grab your crew, hit the theater, and go experience it on the big screen asap!
The 90s kids won on this one, guys. Let’s go!
