Seeing my partner hadn't watched (or even heard of) #ChungkingExpress before, I saw it as a great opp to rewatch it with her yesterday. While the movie was the same as I had remembered, my second time watching it, and still enjoying it was a totally different experience thanks to my partner's perspective lol. When I first watched it many years ago I thought of it as "ahh, dis sum old, metaphorical, artsy shit". This time I couldn't stop laughing at how desperate the two male main chars were in not being single, and also all of the parasocial, stalker elements I had completely paid no mind to when I watched it the first time 😂
