Hey all, my #Fibromyalgia pain levels have been terrible. Back and shoulder pain have been particularly bad.

And I slept for 10hrs last night, so I've been *trying* to rest.

Recently illness has prevented me doing most of the things I use to get me through life. Tonight, I tried to reclaim a bit by finishing this #sketch of Farynna for some WIP writing.

I know it's a good idea to be off the computer when my glasses hurt my nose.

So, I've started a new #pencilsketch for my #ChroniclesOfQalath. This one is of the Aevyormii's Crystal Tree, which made an all-to-brief appearance in "Fallen Down of Nectar Glen".

Well, I managed to get a little bit distracted due to the #Terragen mention below. I found some of my original #ChroniclesOfQalath - and general learning projects, and I even had the .tgd files.

So then I had to figure out if I could get TG working on Linux and through @lutris it works perfectly fine.

Of course I can't remember how I made any of the shots below, but it works. So long as I don't get distracted from writing and drawing, that's a good thing.

With illness, I've almost resigned myself to not hitting my 50k target. But I've also needed to world build and research in order to write the fiction.

So here's the first of my "extinct species": Vérian Wild Ginger, a plant whose defences were too good to be able to save it from destruction.

Having accidentally named two of my #ChroniclesOfQalath characters with the same name, I've gone through almost all of my storywriting this evening and recorded all characters down in one spreadsheet.

Current tally: 84, with 3 or 4 needing names.

They span short stories, books not published in any form, and the free manuscripts I have on #WorldAnvil. Across about 7 writing projects.

I think one overlap in over 80 characters isn't bad!

We're safely at our second stop over. I feel overwhelmed. Wifey and NJ are asleep, or trying to be. I'm in the nearby services getting some own time with a mocha and doing a bit more drawing for #ChroniclesOfQalath.

I knew this necessary trip would be challenging, but not how quickly I would feel it.

Wifey is getting NJ to sleep, so I'm on quiet time #drawing. Weapon design for #ChroniclesOfQalath. Pencil-only zoom in is for ridges and making notes about materials.

Yes, I start designing things with traditional media. If I have time, I will draw them digitally. But I find this way more relaxing l.

I will go sleep soon. The world is noisy & NJs probable ADHD can be noisy and tiring. But I need space too.

Still feeling a bit "blerg" at the moment, with head cold and other stuff going on. Everything's on a massive go-slow.

Thankfully, unless someone's messaged me about coding bugs, I'm just on a drawing a writing day. I've picked up this sketch again. The wall finally has texture (and is complete) and I've made the steps up.

I think for fiction purposes I'll need to just use hand-drawn ones. I'm too perfectionist when I start adding colour.

Progress update on my #drawing of this little bit of Shevezz City in the #ChroniclesOfQalath. The black stones have no texture yet, so look more like polished leather.

I'm not sure I will want to do this for every episode as they're labour-intensive. But I could still do a greyscale one, or just an improved "pencil" version as an alternative.

Well, it's progress I suppose. Today's session's been more about outlining, and redrawing my original quick sketch to make sure features are straight.

The next stage is trickier, as this city is made of mostly black stone.

Time to break and play something I think. I see #drawing still as part of my #writing, even though my writing is better. I'm a visual person, so these things help.

Starting a new image in #Krita. Trying to bring some of my hand sketches into a digital format isn't easy, but I don't really want to blast my photography lamp at gone 11pm to get white light.

I'd rather do digital drawing than traditional this late at night.

This way, I can still progress something for my fantasy #writing.

This afternoon's rest time was completing (or as near to completing as I get) my drawing of the myth about "The Desolation of the Crystal Vale".

It's moments like this that I really wish I'd had more art tuition as there's something lacking...apart from wishing I could do grass without extra hand pain, anyway.

I'm still miles behind on the artwork side of things so the "early preview" will be quite a while before it goes public.

"Andùsz" - to couple, or to break into two.

Opposite meanings. For the Foyii, those that had this language as their native tongue, life-partnerships were meant to be just that.

A couple was also made up of two individuals that remained so. They were one "unit" but not at the expense of individuality.

Even so, relationship break-downs were seen as a contradiction in terms. People did not "couple" on a whim, so could not "break" on a whim either.

[New] I've publicly published my article on the Viàn Falínai, the focus of the story of "Skirmishes and Schisms". There are a few Foyii traditions surrounding death and departing.

This ability is unique to the Great Hawks (and limited other Aevyen-attuned birds) and in my "Skirmishes and Schisms", Aillèpi uses it on his rider Kyaevy.

I'd forgotten how long doing bits of my #fantasy world maps takes me. Not helped by the fact that my hand pain is really bad at the moment.

But I've joined up the rough tracks to Ley-Tan, created a re-usable "Thatched Wooden House" brush/stamp and started texturing the top.

Been in energy-crashing mode for half of today. I'd hoped to get more housework done ahead of Thursday's LOTRO event, but my body is resisting doing much more.

I'm going to do a bit of proofreading before nighttime gaming rest, but I've been "working" on my #drawing of the Viàn Falínai from the 'book' I'm proofreading.

I still have some rocks, that tree, the stone table and the pathways to do, but it's coming together.

Since stopping the DIY I have been in a #fibromyalgia flare but unfortunately, the pain went from my neck muscles to my head.

I'm only just about to try computer stuff now it's 10.30pm. But my #drawing of the Viàn Falínai had moved forwards a bit since I last shared it.

It's always going to be rough but at least I can say I did my own illustration.

I'm not normally on Socials on Sunday, but #LOTRO's downtime has caught me off-routine.

Wifey and NJ got back yesterday as well, so the weekend's been unusual all round. I mean they live here, but they don't normally go away, ha.

Anyway, one thing I often do on Sundays is drawing. In this case trying to add scales to my #ChroniclesOfQalath creature in #Krita.

hey folks, day 1 of my "planned sick leave" basically today. I tried doing some #WorldBuilding - the written bits - but could not concentrate due to energy crashes.

So I ended up making an approximation of one of my characters - Kyaevy, from "Skirmishes and Schisms". I used #HeroForge for this, but may draw her manually another time.

She's part of the Woodsmen in the White Woods in the very North, but descended from the Kyadii in the neighbouring territory.

The specially-trained White-leaf Woodsmen work in partnership with the Great Hawks for missions and scouting.
