"Favorites - New Tab Page" i think is my favorite new "favorites/new tab page" setup. its like how it *should* be. The way bookmarks *should be* on chrome/chromeOS/chromebooks etc. it takes your existing bookmarks, and takes advantage of all the screen real-estate you've got and gives you a beautiful icon-grid layout which you can customize to you heart's content.

if you were kinda missing the ability to do a nova launcher type setup in chromeOS /chromebook, "Favorites - New Tab Page" is a solution I think you might enjoy

draft - when will chromeOS get more controls / capabilities from the shelf? its a digital space. its not bound by physical reality. please give us the ability to pin folders to the shelf. we can tap them and they'll open in a 3x3 or 4x4 grid, so that, we have access to our favorite things more easily. folders inside the launcher are too fleeting. they are lost whenever using "sort by color" or "sort by a-z" etc...at least if there was an option to pin app folders to the top so they wouldn't be strewn about when re-sorting, that might help a bit.

draft - chromeOS needs a static grid for icons/apps. the launcher is a grid but you can destroy the manual layout with one click. the shelf doesn't have a one click destroy manual layout option, but its one long line and not a grid. plus you can't pin an app folder there either.

if you're going to let us destroy our manual layout with one click, at least give us an option to "sort manually" in addition to "sort by color" and "sort by name".
