46 years ago today, July 5, 1980, Christopher Cross entered the Top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart at #34 in its 4th week with “Sailing”. It went on to peak at #1 and spent a total of 13 weeks in the Top 40.
The song also peaked at #10 for two weeks on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart and spent a total of 19 weeks in its Top 50.
