  1. The Odyssey to see The Odyssey (2026)

As it is, the movie is infused with Nolan realism. Everything is serious and grim. The contrast between mythological events and reality creates this clash. I have not seen Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, so I cannot tell how much of this juxtaposition has existed before. Still, the contrast of what I saw on screen and how the movie portrayed such events, threw me off the loop.

  3. THE ODYSSEY - it’s not a secret that I am simply a fan of Christopher Nolan, having seen every film of his in the theatre since Dark Knight Rises and a couple more at retrospective screenings. I love his sci-fi work most of all and I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy the new film, but I do, a lot, technical aspects of his work remain outstanding but it's also an unusual film for him #ChristopherNolan #TheOdyssey #film #drama #review

  6. I don't understand all the fuss with the film The Odyssey. I went to watch it in the cinema last night, and for the first time in my life I could sit three hours watching a film without needing a break. It's really a fantastic film.

    Come on, folks.

  10. Why Christopher Nolan and why The Odyssey???

On the surface it seems like The Odyssey is a vanity project. Like if Christopher Nolan after getting an Oscar for Oppenheimer ( which I still didn't review for some stupid reason ), decided that he is big enough, of a filmmaker, to take on a project of epic proportions, or something. Like he can tell Homer himself, how to properly tell a story, or whatever. But then you watch the movie.
  11. "...Greek #myth is always full of...random...#fanfiction..."

#Homeric scholar referring to the many different and disputed versions of #Odysseus' story, going back to #Homer himself, and how all of the #Greek #myths are stories built upon stories.

Meaning #ChristopherNolan's The Odyssey is as historically accurate as every other version of the story.

Get over yourselves bros, it's #fanfic all the way down.

  13. Nolan’s next big challenge should be to make a film with predominantly female protagonists (and dead wives don’t count). I love his films but they are all sausage parties without exception! It doesn’t even need to be 100% IMAX if that makes it too difficult. #ChristopherNolan #Nolan #TheOdyssey #Bechdel

  14. Christopher Nolan's “Odyssey” is exhausting.

Not sitting and watching it. God no, I can't imagine doing that. Maybe one day years from now.

Just bloody HEARING about it 300 times a day it is bad enough.

He's not a bad film maker at all. He's good at what he does. But the way he gets treated as some kind of genius is seriously baffling to me.
