Back in 1976, Christo and Jeanne-Claude worked with local communities and volunteers in Sonoma County and Marin County to complete Running Fence (24.5 miles).

It was only installed for two weeks, before it was completely removed and landscape restored.

This year marks the project's 50th anniversary. I was able to update my Running Fence project in QGIS with another set of source maps which represent the final route.

Die Projektion läuft in Dauerschleife und dauert etwa 15 Minuten...

Die Verhüllung des Berliner Reichstages im Jahr 1995 durch durch das Künstler-Ehepaar Jeanne-Claude und Christo kenne ich leider nur von Fotos. Die Wiederbelebung des Projektes durch eine Lichtinstallation habe ich mir heute angesehen. Sicher kommt es nicht an die Wirkung von damals heran, aber ich konnte einen Eindruck der Installation gewinnen und war beeindruckt.

Noch bis 20.06.2025 täglich ab etwa 21:30 Uhr bis 1 Uhr nachts.

Ja, wir haben uns damals einen kreativen Scherz erlaubt.
Ich hatte die rote Folie auf einen Scheinwerfer gelegt. Eine zweite blaue wurde auf die andere Seite im Hintergrund gelegt, die blieb aber nur Sekunden liegen. Der Wachdienst war fit.

Es muss noch andere Fotos geben, weil der eigentliche Fotograf viel weiter weg stand, um das ganze Gebäude im Bild zu haben. Ich sehe es noch vor mir: links rot, rechts blau. Ich fand das viel lebendiger als dieses weis. Leider habe ich zu den anderen Beteiligten den Kontakt verloren. Viele von den damaligen Kreuzbergern sind wieder nach Hause (irgendwo in Westdeutschland) gegangen. Ich vermisse diese Stadt.

Abortion rights activists get into, take over lead of Tampa's "March 4 Life" forced birth parade

On the 1st of February, Tampa forced-birth marchers assembled outside a downtown Catholic Church and marched to a nearby park.This was Tampa's local version of the national annual January march against abortion rights. This was also 12 days after the installation of "King" Trump.

Abortion rights activists managed to enter the march, then take over the lead. The offical lead banner crew kept slowing down or stopping to open a gap, but abortion rights supporters were wise to this old countermove. At one point they reversed the roles, stopping and forcing the entire march to file past them.

At the park rally, abortion rights supporters actually HAD THEIR OWN TABLE, and advanced towards the rally from that position. This diverted some of the rally participants to forming a front line at the back of their rally.

While some verbal sparks flew, punches never did. Things stayed entirely peaceful. At no point did the police threaten either side either.
