  1. These #Maine #goats are hungry for your #ChristmasTree

by Susan Cover, December 29, 2025

#LitchfieldME — "With the holidays winding down, it’s time to consider options for getting rid of the Christmas tree.

"While many cities and towns offer pickup or drop off, some goat farms are happy to help as well.

"At #IronLeafFarm in Litchfield, several Nigerian dwarf goats are ready and able to strip your tree bare.

" 'They get trace minerals, antioxidants, forage, it helps with cutting down on hay in the winter,' farm owner Anne Seeber said.

" 'No tinsel, make sure it’s clear of all lights and ornaments,' Seeber said. 'We do give them a once over before we allow the goats to have them.' "

  3. We don't do much to celebrate Christmas, but I do like Christmas trees, especially when they offer a quiet moment of reflections. I took this photo in 2019 in the lobby of my last office before the pandemic shutdown. I moved away, worked remotely and retired few years later, so it was one of the very last time I was in the office. I'll always remember that moment.

  4. I find it fascinating how #ChristmasTrees have become much more #abstract in #London this year.
Fewer trees (fake or real) Instead, an array of semi-plantonic cones, shining with light. More likely made of #baubles than having them hanging.
What will #Christmas evolve into next?

Just because you have ROOM for a 25 foot tree, doesn't mean you should GET a 25 foot tree. And this was one of several we used over the first few years of our new house.
