  1. Dennis E. Powell writes, “Has there ever been a less Christmas-y Advent? I sure can't remember one. Even during times of great sadness and crisis, we've always allowed -- I daresay welcomed -- the season to comfort and encourage us.” ofb.biz/sa1380

  2. #christmasmemories My first “computer” was the Radio Shack knockoff of the TI-55 I got for Christmas in 1977(?) You could write a program that was up to 50 “steps” long, but it would forget them if you turned it off!

By 1978 I was already a hacker wanna be, screwing around with the school’s old Wang-720B calculator that had a punched card reader, magnetic core memory, and a Nixie tube display that you could overload to simulate “smoke” for when the lunar lander simulation decided you crashed.

  3. When I was a kid, one of the Christmas albums the folks would have on in the background as we opened presents and just did the family thing on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was “Goodyear’s Songs Of Christmas, Volume 5” which had this one, my favorite rendition of this song by Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

  4. When I was 15 years old my father died in November. Christmas was at my (much older) sister's house. My sister asked my mother when she planned to arrive and told her not to bring Pecan. #ChristmasMemories

  5. Throwback to last Christmas at Santa’s Wonderland! 🎅🏼🎄 Tanner and his buddy were all smiles with Santa. Can’t wait for this year’s holiday magic! ✨

  6. Before Christmas morning, I would surround the #Christmas tree with special snacks that I didn’t usually buy that my son loved. Cans of Jumex juice in a variety of flavors, a can of black olives (he loved them), and gifts from Santa and lots of treats. Just for fun, I’d put some extra, non-present items around the tree, too, like rolls of toilet paper. How I loved to make him laugh and loved hearing his laughter. ♥️ 🧻 🎄 🎁

  7. Christmas memories

Years ago, when my son was little, Everett must have caught me wrapping gifts in the wee hours of #Christmas morning. Seeing the gifts, he was eager to open something, which started our #tradition. He was, from then on, allowed to get up sometime during the night and could open one gift of his choosing. This went on for years until in his mid to late teens, sleep was more appealing than getting up to open a gift.

A Christmas from a long time ago, my mom and dad were separated and I was living with my dad. They weren't on good terms, but my mom showed up to surprise me after driving over 10 hours to see me. We spent the day together, she got me Midnight Club Dub Edition for the PS2 and it was just an amazing day. I remember I missed my mom so much.

  10. I Remember Christmas

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing another festive poem with you today. I hope you enjoy it!

    I Remember Christmas

    I remember Christmases
    Back when I was young
    The tree’d be there a’twinkling
With the lights my dad had strung

    And I remember all the movies;
We’d watch The muppets on Christmas Eve
Then we’d head up to bed excited
For the gifts we might receive

    And I remember jumping up,
In the night to find ‘he’d’ been
Too early to wake my parents
But my siblings were always keen

    I remember our Christmas stockings
With a tangerine in the toe
There’d be chocolate, games – maybe a book
    And some marbles and dominoes

    Mostly, I remember the magic
That lay beyond the living room door
Oh, how I wish I could go back
To all those Christmases of yore!

As ever, thanks so much for reading!

    Until next time,

    George

  12. Vyx, Myself & Todl wish you a joyful and warm holiday season! It’s been a particularly special Christmas because it’s the first year with our toddler being old enough to be excited about Christmas, Santa, the promise of toys, and all of the decorations. Experiencing the holidays through the lens of an excited child is definitely one of the most heartwarming things. 🥰

  14. Recalling about four decades ago when I made a Christmas tree on my then-office's first color character terminal, an IBM 3279. A green tree with lights, some blinking, and falling snow.

  15. The year is a big fuzzy, but it was 2007ish. My brothers, and I and all the kids and spouses had gathered at my mom’s. We always saved stockings for after dinner and that year I put a can of silly string in everyone’s stocking and we had an EPIC silly string battle in Mom’s dining room. It was awesome!

  16. Still my favorite baby picture. I still have the stocking. The cat has since passed on. #ChristmasMemories #christmastree
