As is usually the case, I did various home maintenance tasks while visiting my MIL for Thanksgiving... One of the big ones this year was hanging icicle lights for her!
She didn't have the right hooks for her mesh gutter guards, so I prototyped a couple using large paper clips - initially just from looking at the gutter guards, then we found some online to copy. Confirmed they would work, made another 30, and then we successfully hung the lights! She is *thrilled*. 💖✨

Time for yesterdays #3goodthings
1. New sofa bed arrived and was assembled so I have my reading book returned less than a week after I lost it and my sister and her fiancé have a place to sleep when they come up for Christmas.
2. Made a pretty wreath for the front door and redecorated the Christmas tree after it was knocked over getting the new sofa bed upstairs
3. Turned out the awful mood I was in yesterday morning was not the return of SAD but just the effects of me having woken up late and forgotten to take my meds, so an hour after they kicked in I was able to nip out and see my Dad.

Looks like one of tomorrows #3goodthings is going to be how late I slept today! But for now here is yesterdays:
1. Had a joyful if unproductive trip to hobby craft with partner in tow, didn’t get what we wanted whilst we were there but we had fun wandering the aisles and ordered the bits I needed when I got home.
2. Curled up on the sofa in the evening to watch a film and fell asleep within the first 2 minutes, an excellent 2hr nap
3. Started adding some of the extra parts of Christmas decorations to the house, I’m particularly pleased with the little stockings on the stairs and have just ordered loads of chocolate coins to put in them 😊.I was going to add a pic, but as there seems to be a server error I’ll share that later on today! #threegoodthings #joyofnaps #ChristmasDecorating

A very late #threegoodthings from yesterday.
1. My partner and I spent a lovely afternoon pottering together yesterday, enjoying each other’s company and easing into the Christmas spirit. Best thing about it was how well we communicated even in moments where one of us could have easily snapped we didn’t, we’ve been together a long time, but our communication has never been as good as it currently is.
2. We met lovely people on our travels, my partner isn’t naturally chatty but said he really enjoyed our little chats with random people along the way and is going to go out of his way to engage more with people.
3. After picking our tree at the Christmas tree farm and purchasing a couple of extra decorations we went home had a Chinese takeaway and decorated our lovely tree. -
The tree is in the house, now we just have to decorate it! #christmastree #ChristmasDecorating
