Learned recently that there's an old Scottish version of the Twelve Days of Christmas song - called 'Yule Days' or 'Thirteen Days of Yule'.
It's quite like the Twelve Days - but with much more a-merrying, and a less memorable numbering system.
Here's it's final verse from Robert Chambers's 1858 book of Popular Rhymes of Scotland; and a more obvious rhyme scheme shown by Donald MacDonald in a 1965 Chapbook.
