Cleta Mitchell, who leads Election Integrity Network, served on Trump’s legal team during his attempts to overturn the 2020 election result.
Since 2022, EIN has promoted becoming a poll worker,
directing people to “become part of the election apparatus” in their communities.EIN affiliates in Georgia, North Carolina and Wisconsin have made efforts to recruit and train poll workers in 2024.
Mitchell and another EIN leader did not respond to calls and emails seeking comment.
During a June livestream on the video-sharing platform Rumble,
former Trump Homeland Security official #Ken #Cuccinelli directed an audience of about 10,000 to EIN’s website to sign up as poll workers.What “can make the most difference without changing the laws,” Cuccinelli said,
“is getting more of our folks inside the polling places,
not as poll watchers,
but as election officials,
the ones who actually sign people in in the poll books,
the ones who actually count the ballots.”Reached by phone, Cuccinelli said he takes every opportunity to encourage people to become poll workers and often refers them to EIN for training.
His remarks came during regular “election security” livestreams hosted on Rumble by Florida businessman and local Republican Party leader #Steve #Stern.
Stern declined an interview.In April, #Christina #Norton, director of election integrity for the Republican National Committee, told the livestream audience that
its poll watchers and workers were the “heart of this mission.”When they encounter problems on Election Day, Norton said,
they should “immediately report that issue back to the Republican headquarters,

to resolve them in real time.”An RNC spokesperson said Norton meant that only observers should contact the war room
but did not respond to requests for clarification and whether the request asked workers to break the law. -
Republicans also made concerns about the election a formal part of their #platform.
“We will implement measures to secure our elections,
including voter ID,
highly sophisticated paper ballots,

Republicans say they are building an army of poll watchers and observers

RNC’s ‘election integrity’ lawyer charged with election crimes
#Christina #Bobb is the lawyer overseeing the RNC's "election integrity" efforts.
She was also just indicted by a grand jury for election-related crimes.A total of 18 Republicans were indicted in Arizona yesterday as part of the party’s fake elector scandal from 2020,
including 11 people who served as fake electors themselves.
But it’s worth pausing to take a closer look at the other seven, each of whom worked with Donald Trump.
Take a look at this NBC News summary, and pay particular attention to the penultimate name toward the end of the paragraph:"The [indictment] describes people who have been charged in the case but have not yet been served and whose names are redacted:

His torrent of #lies and the #cowardice of elected Republicans who knowingly echo his lies have created a permanent threat to election workers.
Trump supporters are primed for #battle
—metaphoric and physical.A spokeswoman for Trump recently claimed that the party will be sending “#soldiers” to monitor voting.
Last week, Judge Michael Luttig remarked about the unprecedented
threat Trump presents to our judiciary and to democracy,
following Trump’s #attacks on the daughter of the judge who will preside over his hush money case.“Never in history has any person leveled such attacks and been met with such #passivity, #acquiescence, and #submissiveness by the nation,” Luttig wrote.
The same can be said for the nation’s collective reaction to Trump’s plans to steal the 2024 election.
Rich Lowry wrote last month in a National Review column titled
“How Exactly Would Donald Trump End American Democracy?”
that “we can stipulate that if Trump loses in November 👉he won’t concede the election and, in all likelihood, will engage in the same kind of pressure campaign to change the results as he did in 2020.”What Trump has planned for November and December, if he doesn’t win, is not a “pressure campaign.” It’s another #coup.

and has adopted a new #litmus #test: Prospective RNC employees are reportedly being asked 🔸if the 2020 election was stolen. 🔸Trump is also engaging #Cleta #Mitchell, who participated in the 2020 coup effort, and was on the infamous call when he asked Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to 🔸“find” enough votes for him to overcome Biden’s tally 🔸in the Peach State.
Mitchell, among others, is working on a Trump-directed effort to 💥convince states to quit the "Electronic Registration Information Center" ( #ERIC ), 💥which helps identify unregistered voters and registration irregularities.
👉Conspiracy theories on the right have proliferated regarding ERIC, and as some Republican states have dropped it, the potential for problems has grown, according to election experts interviewed by Rolling Stone.
🔥The new software Trump allies are using instead relies on “totally unreliable” data, which could lead to more challenges to the votes of registered and eligible voters, 🔥overwhelming election officials, creating delays, and giving candidates who lost “more time and more space to create false narratives about an election being stolen,” according to David Becker, one of ERIC’s founders.

RNC plan for 2020 #denialist to head ‘#election #integrity’ unit raises alarms
As Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has cemented its hold on the Republican National Committee (RNC), alarms are being raised about the organisation’s tapping of the fervent election denialist #Christina #Bobb to run an “election integrity” unit.
Bobb is a former Trump lawyer and ex-reporter for the far-right #One #America #News #Network, who gained prominence after Trump’s 2020 loss for promoting bogus fraud charges in Arizona, Wisconsin and elsewhere, and was part of Trump-backed efforts to substitute fake electors for ones that Joe Biden won in some states.
Bobb helped spread phoney voting fraud claims with Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani and the former campaign operative Mike Roman, both of whom along with Trump and others face charges in Fulton county, Georgia, of conspiring to overturn Biden’s win there; Bobb was not charged.
Last year Bobb wrote "Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024," a book that was chock full of #baseless charges about 2020 election fraud.
Former judges, ex-Republican congressmen and election watchdogs voice strong concerns about Bobb’s mission and the potential dangers posed by her flood of erroneous charges of voting fraud.
“By designating Bobb to the RNC post,
💥they’re beginning to promulgate the same false narrative of widespread election fraud that we saw in 2020 and 2021 but way earlier💥,” said John Jones, a former federal judge in Pennsylvania and now president of Dickinson College.“There’s a concept known as #illusory #truth,” he added. “If you keep saying these same falsehoods over and over, people begin to believe they’re true, and it has the potential to morph into violence.
That puts judges, prosecutors and others at risk.”
