We're the blooming frogs not realising that the nice tepid water will soon boil. We absolutely must keep pushing them to do more. And to give Packham a sainthood while they're about it.

Transition group @playthinkbrink welcomed broadcaster and activist Chris Packham for campfire tea and chat at their meantime use space in the centre of Belfast recently.
Gawain Morrison, co-founder of Brink, said: "Just as it was about to snow, we sat round our fire pit & chatted about this part of the city, the heritage growing project on the site, with our partners Grow NI & quarto, the broken food system, renewables, activism & punk bands. Not a bad way to start the morning."
The project aims to spark conversations and new thinking about how their city of Belfast can transition to a better future. Chris added a message on heritage linen to their story ring: “Winning is not giving up and the fuel is love and rage”

Chris Packham Forces UK Government to Reconsider Green Pledge

Rishi Sunak announced in 2023 that he would drop green policies from the UK’s Carbon Budget Delivery Plan (CBDP), including:
- a transition away from petrol, and diesel free cars and vans by 2030.
- the phasing out of new and replacement gas boilers by 2035.
- a ban on installing fossil fuel heating in homes not connected to the gas grid from 2026.
- the policy to require all privately rented homes to be EPC band C or better for all new tenancies from 2025 and all tenancies from 2028.
Chris Packham legally challenged this abandonment of green policies.
A settlement has been agreed between Packham and the now-Labour UK Government in which it has confirmed that the previous government had acted unlawfully, and that it will reconsider its CBDP green agenda by May 2025.
The law firm representing Packham, Leigh Day, have published an article on this welcome news including quotes from Chris.
