La conexión de Tom Morello con Chile es especial. Lo sabemos desde hace tiempo. Su admiración por Víctor Jara, sumado a sus constantes halagos al público nacional nos hacen saber que nos hemos ganado un rincón especial en su rockero corazón.

Su presentación en el Alternative Stage fue el cierre de la primera jornada. Después de quedar con las pulsaciones a tope con Deftones, el ex Rage Against the Machine y Audioslave no se quedó atrás. No es solo rock. Es energía, es furia,  consciencia y rebeldía. Y, por supuesto, talento de sobra.

I miss Chris Cornell so much.
NOBODY sang like that dude.
Vocally, no 90s frontman was better.

Of Cornell’s solo albums, nothing touches Euphoria Morning.
It’s absolutely stellar. It’s the only album he put out between the bust-up of Soundgarden & formation of Audioslave.

“Flutter Girl” is exceptional. It’s a song that appeared in ACOUSTIC form on the expanded version of the Singles soundtrack. Here, it gets full, elaborate band instrumentation: psychedelic, gauzy, & otherworldly.

“Wave Goodbye” was written for Jeff Buckley, who was a good friend of his, and “Preaching The End Of The World” is as soulful as Cornell’s ever been.

Just a phenomenal and UNBELIEVABLY UNDERRATED album. Nobody ever mentions it or talks about it.

Give it its much deserved flowers.

The world could use Chris’s voice right about now.
