#ttrpg campaign concept for a generic fantasy setting, maybe #DungeonsAndDragons or something: The monarch has learned that a certain child will fulfill an important prophecy. To keep it safe, they hide the child away in one of the corners of the realm, to be raised and trained until one day they are ready. That child is the player character. Every player character, in fact, because the monarch loves a good shell game and simply hid half a dozen kids in different places to confuse any would-be assassins and traitors at court. Unfortunately, the monarch might just die before getting to tell the PCs who the real chosen one is...
And yes, I may have just started watching #Willow because stupid #disneyPlus is going to remove it from streaming in a week. Going by the first 16 minutes of the show, it doesn't use that plot, but it got me thinking how one could pull off a #ChosenOne narrative in a group-focused hobby after @inksmith wrote a cool article about progressive versions of that trope at https://www.tor-online.de/magazin/mehr-phantastik/die-auserzaehlten-das-auserwaehlten-trope (German language).
