The Giants, right now, are pathetic Get swept in 3 by the #Marlins & now lose 2 out of 3 to the #ChiSox; 2 of the worst teams in MLB. 🤦♂️
I didn't watch the game but read the box score.
The Giants lost today's game 2-5 but Verlander pitched a great game, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits & 2 walks with 3Ks in 6 innings on 88 pitches thrown.
The problem was that Miller & Walker combined to give up 4 runs in the 7th and the "offense" could only muster 2 runs (1 in the 2nd & 1 in the 5th) which would have been enough to win the game, if the relief staff hadn't imploded in the 7th.
With this 5th loss in 6 games, the Giants (45-39) are now 7.5 games behind the #Dodgers (53-32) in 1st & remain 1/2 game behind the #Padres (45-38) in 2nd in the NL West & are now in 5th place in the NL Wild Card race 1.5 games behind the #Cardinals (47-38) in 3rd & 1/2 game behind the Padres in 4th.
The Giants start a 4 game series vs the #Dbacks (41-42) in AZ tomorrow.

Man, do the Giants s*ck!!! 🤦♂️
Guess they're in their #JuneSwoon mode now. 🤷♂️
The Giants (now 44-37) drop 3 in a row & get swept by the #Marlins who had a 31-45 record before the series started & have a 34-45 record now. WTF??? 🤔
The Giants pitchers did this by giving up 24 runs & 35 hits & the Giants "hitters" did this by only scoring 12 runs on 15 hits (5 per game) over the 3 games. 🤦♂️
I hope they can do better in the 3 games coming up against the even more mediocre #ChiSox (26-55). 🙏

The #Giants (now 65-64) lost to the #ChiSox-- the team with the worst record in baseball (now 31-97) by a score of 6-2 today. 🤦♂️
Webb pitched 8 innings giving up 2 runs, 5 hits & 1 BB w/6Ks on 93 pitches thrown. He wouldn't have gotten a win for his effort because the game was tied at 2-2 going into the top of the 9th because the Giants could not score an extra run because they when 2-10 with RISP.
Instead, the Giants gave up 4 runs in the top of the 9th (due to poor relief pitching & still couldn't hit their way out of bag in the bottom of the 9th. 🙄
Oh well . . . 🤷♂️
Now they head to Seattle to play a 3 game series vs the #Mariners .

The good news is that the #Giants beat the #ChiSox 1-4 yesterday with a lot less effort than it took 2 days ago.
Robbie Ray found his control & gave up only 1 run on 3 hits w/no walks & 9Ks in 6.2 innings & on 96 pitches thrown. And the rest of the relief staff shut out the ChiSox over the last 2.1 innings, including a 3K "save" by Walker.
On the other hand, while the Giants' hitters did enough to squeak out 4 runs for the win, they were still 2 of 11 RISP which means that coulda/shoulda scored a lot more runs than just 4.
This is not a problem when the Giants score enough runs to win & when the pitchers do enough to prevent the opposing team to score but it is a big problem when the Giants are behind.
Anyway, the Giants "should: win again today to go 3 games over 500 at 66-33 before they have to face the #Mariners & the #Brewers, which are much better teams than the ChiSox in the coming week.

The fact that the #Giants (now 64-63) had so much trouble beating the #ChiSox (now 30-96) speaks to why the #Giants are such a mediocre team.
Yeah, the Giants won but were shut out for 4 innings but did nicely string together 5 hits & a sac fly to score 4 runs in the 5th. Chapman's solo HR in the 6th just looked like icing on the cake until the ChiSox scored 2 in the 8th to make the score 3-5 & Hicks came into "close" the game & got into trouble in the 9th due to an error by Wisely (scored as a hit) & a bungled DP by Estrada on 2nd & a bad throw by Fitz @ SS to 1st (that also wasn't scored an error on him or Wade at 1st ) getting only 1 out & leaving runners on 1st & 2nd but was able to get the final 2 batters to fly out for the save.
So, this made Chapman's solo HR even more important because a single by either of the last 2 batters would have tied the game w/o it.
Hopefully, the Giants can beat the ChiSox again today in a more convincing manner.

The #Giants lost to the #Rockies today 1-9 and squandered an opportunity to sweep the series and to win 3 games in row for the 1st time in the season.
The Giants let this game get away from them in the 4th when the Rockies rocked Winn for 7 runs, who had to be pulled from the game after only 3.2 innings & 51 pitches thrown.
The only Giants run came on another Conforto HR in the top of the 4th. His 6th of the year which was the only positive note for the Giants in this game.
Oh well . . . at least the Giants were able to take 2 out of 3 from the team that is now tied at 9-28 w/the #ChiSox as the worst team in the league. 🤷♂️
Now they have to return home for 9 games starting tomorrow to face the #Reds (3), #Dodgers (3) and the Rockies (3) again, where (based on how they've been playing) they'll be lucky to win 4 out of 9.
We'll see . . . 🙏
