In the face of growing discontent from citizens, #China’s government is again resorting to “whataboutism” to deflect from the real issue of what is going on.

  17. CW: Protesters in China responding to claims that they have been organised by "foreign forces"...

#China's #CommunistParty has more often than not claim that disgruntlement with the Chinese Government is being stoked up by foreign forces.

Here, protesters call Marx and Lenin foreign forces, saying they're here as domestic forces won't let them govern themselves.

  18. What do you think the reason for Apple limiting #AirDrop to 10 seconds only on Chinese iPhones was? Just a coincidence that it happened in the middle of the #ChinaProtests where it was being used to share information without #censorship yeah?

If Apple didn’t want to comply with the CCP, #Apple could just, you know, not sell iPhones in #China.

#Google pulled out of the #Chinese market over a decade ago after the CCP asked them to start censoring search results in the mainland.

To this day, Google does not operate in China. They’ve still been massively profitable.

#TimCook went out of his way to bend over backwards to the Chinese government, knowing full well what the consequences would be, because even though Apple was already pulling in billions he wanted more:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/17/technology/apple-china-censorship-data.html

There’s no moral justification here. It’s just money money money. If you’re an Apple shareholder I’m sure you’re happy. But the fact is Apple is profiting from assisting Winnie the Pooh’s oppressive regime.

Apple didn’t need to operate in the Chinese market. They never did under Steve Jobs. It was Tim Cook who went out to China and practically begged them to embrace Apple, agreeing to make any concessions the CCP wanted.

But hey at least they put suicide nets on their sweatshops I guess.

As for your assertion that Chinese people would have no means of communication without Apple… I mean do I really even need to explain how absurd that is?

  19. Reflecting on the current turmoil in #Guangzhou and the rest of #China, and also remembering her peaceful foundations -- as exemplified here in the otherworldly timelessness and tranquility of the Hualin Temple of 500 Gods. Built and rebuilt over the last 1,500 years, it marks Bodhidharma's arrival from India and with him the seeds of #Zen #Buddhism. I shot this when I accidentally visited for a day.
