  1. Spring Green

Sun through fresh spring beech leaves is quite a special thing. The bluebells have gone already, but this fabulous light is more than enough reward. The bird song was wonderful as well.

I hope one day to see Roundheaded Rampion - it's such a striking flower.

I live in the #Chilterns on chalk and know my local #wildflowers well - but sometimes I crave a bit of exotica!

  8. Nice wintery walk today. First one that was properly head-in-the-sun-crunch-underfoot.

  13. Thatching uses the rain’s angle of descent against it. The material isn’t in itself waterproof, but it guides the drops from the roof’s surface to the ground. It’s gravity judo. I watched the thatch going up on this row of cottages. It was weirdly restful.

  26. Hey #BikeTooter, I'm now 25% in to my #RRtY #Audax adventure. We had a very successful day on Saturday, blessed once again with good weather. This was the toughest ride yet of the series, a full 1% (2km elevation for 200km distance) got out in to some lovely #Chilterns countryside. Met a chap who was 20mins in to a round the world cycle trip, which was incredibly cool, also saw about 400 head of #deer during the early morning section way more than normal!

  27. Reconnecting with Deep Time and stillness, at the remaining earthworks of an Iron Age hill fort at Pulpit Hill, in the Chiltern hills of Buckinghamshire. When the white noise & demands on attention become too much, feeling the passing of time over earth that was once so urgent and strategic, now overgrown with beech trees and carpets of leaves and moss, can help me come back to life again.
