An alleged neo-nazi accused of running a vile exploitation ring in which young girls were coerced into performing 'barbaric' sexual acts and self-harm online has gone on trial in Paris.
Investigators identified Rohan Rane, a 29-year-old Indian national who came to France to study at a business school in the southeastern city of Antibes before becoming a fitness coach, as the group’s leader. Despite his heritage, Rane was a self-declared fascist, reported French media.
He is being tried on charges including torture or acts of barbarity against minors, organised extortion and dissemination of child sexual abuse material. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
Other accused in the case, according to reports, include three US citizens.
They were part of a neo-nazi ring, named CVLT (pronounced 'cult'), that espoused racist and antisemitic views and expressed hostility toward feminists and the LGBTQ community.
It promoted 'neo-nazism, nihilism, and paedophilia as its core principles', according to a US Department of Justice statement. Investigators say CVLT members described themselves as 'warlords' and referred to their victims as 'slaves' or housewives'.
The group is accused of abusing young girls, most of them minors, from the US, the UK, the Netherlands and Estonia, a French court heard. The proceedings are being held behind closed doors because, it was argued, CVLT was particularly active in the US, and had allegedly sought to intimidate victims and witnesses and had threatened US prosecutors."

A little something I wrote this week about survival and abuse. I’m a firm believer that we have to discuss domestic violence, especially child abuse, if we ever hope to combat it. We can’t ignore it or silence the abused.
Victims are often told to keep quiet. That they’re out of line for speaking up. Anyone who says such is a protector of abusers. I’m here to tell you that’s bullshit.

# Yesterday
For many folks, Yesterday is thought of fondly. Yesterday is when they were young, innocent, naive. Life was full of joy. Life was carefree. For these folks, the longing for Yesterday is real. They yearn with a nostalgia that wishes it was a Delorean that could drive them back there. So they could be carefree once more. To forgo worries about life’s hassles and bustles. To feel free and safe once more. To forget that jumping out of swing sets when they’re 20 feet high and facing a busy street is kinda fucking dangerous actually.
But to some, like me, childhood is a mixed bag of nostalgia and trauma. Dark blots on colorful splotches. Many folks don’t want to hear about how when I was a kid, I had to figure out the best method of survival from an abusive mom which involved learning to only engage with her if I absolutely had to. A normal mom, a caring mom, would have asked their teenage child if they were ok after years of mostly silence, but not mine. Which was fine with me, because that was the point. From about twelve or so, I had learned a valuable lesson, an unstable mom cannot be trusted even when she’s in a good mood. That mood could turn on a dime, triggered by whatever the hell ails her. So you just learn to not engage and you enter survival mode. Looking toward 18 years of life as not a right of passage but as birth.

JAILED: Sandfields man gets 16 years for raping a girl of 12
A man from Sandfields has been jailed for 16 years for raping a 12-year-old girl and sexually abusing her over several years.
James Miller, 49, carried out the offences against the same victim between 1993 and 2001, South Wales Police said.
He raped the girl when she was 12, and indecently and sexually assaulted her on at least ten occasions, according to the force.
His victim reported the abuse to police in 2023.
On 10 September, Miller was found guilty of rape of a girl under 16, five counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, and two counts of gross indecency with a girl under 14.
Special custodial sentence of 16 years
Miller was sentenced on Friday to a special custodial sentence of 16 years in prison, followed by an extra year on licence.
He must serve two-thirds of the prison term before he can go before the Parole Board, the force said.
He is also subject to an indefinite restraining order protecting the victim and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and he must sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
Police praise victim’s “bravery to come forward”
Detective Constable Jacquetta Jones said: “James Miller’s crimes were horrendous and made his defenceless child victim’s life a living hell.
“Not only did his sexual abuse rob her of her childhood, it has also taken years of her adult life, and no doubt will be a trauma that the victim will carry with her for the rest of her life.
“We are immensely proud of the victim for showing the bravery to come forward, and now that James Miller is going to prison, we hope that in the future the burden caused to her by his actions can begin to alleviate.”
The force said it hoped cases like this showed that victims would be listened to, treated with dignity and respect, and supported throughout the court process.
