Horizontal dash over a letter in English text indicating the removal of and 'n' from 'alderman' and 'London'.
'l' and 'd' ligatured in 'world'.
'e' above 'y' used for 'ye' where we would now use 'the'. 'f' without a crossbar used where an 's' would now be used. I wonder how these changes in our written language became common.
