Well that went better than expected 😊😁 Last long run before next Sunday’s Chester Half managed to keep pace relatively consistent and heart rate not getting too high especially with the weather being so warm. It wasn’t the best time to do a threshold run mid afternoon when the sun was probably at its highest which showed in today’s threshold run. Sunday long run testing my race shoes out for Chester Half in 4 weeks time. Decided to forego my usual zone 2 run and split the run into 2 parts, first 11km keeping hr zone 2/ aerobic threshold and the next 5km in zone 3 and lower limit of zone 4. Saturday and the dreaded intervals day 🥵🥹 Polar Flow plan said 3x5 minutes and 2 minutes recovery with 13 minutes warm up and 5 minutes cool down. Been a long time since I ran more than 2 sets so the last one took it out of me and pace slightly dropped for that one. Back to half marathon training today with 60 minutes progression running split into 30 minutes easy zone 2 pace and 25 minutes zone 4 threshold pace with 5 minutes cool down. More zone 2 running as part of #chesterhalfmarathon in May. Treadmill day today and 55 minutes done.
