🪶 If you have never been to a powwow, consider attending one next year. You can see colorful dancing, hear drums and singing, peruse handcrafted items, and enjoy other entertainment.

💻 Can't make it to a powwow? At the same site, you can watch live streams and videos on demand. I recommend checking out any video with a Grand Entrance to see the pageantry. And anything with Tiny Tots will make you smile until your cheeks hurt.

📝 One more art bear from Cherokee, NC, but this one may need some explanation. It is fashioned after the iconic image of Sequoyah, who famously developed the "syllabary" that allowed the Cherokee language to be written. The bear also features some of the symbols used.
The name of the sculpture is "Sequoyah Syllabeary". 😆
💡 It's a remarkable story where a person who was not literate understood the importance of a written language and then figured out how to develop one.
And, something that does not get enough press, his syllabary allows kids to learn to read in a fraction of the time that English does.
Here is also a sculpture honoring Sequoyah outside of the Museum of the Cherokee People.
