The name of the sculpture is "Sequoyah Syllabeary". 😆
💡 It's a remarkable story where a person who was not literate understood the importance of a written language and then figured out how to develop one.
And, something that does not get enough press, his syllabary allows kids to learn to read in a fraction of the time that English does.
Here is also a sculpture honoring Sequoyah outside of the Museum of the Cherokee People.

Had an amazing day hiking through the Great Smokey Mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway and the Qualla Boundary. I forget how blessed I am to have come from these lands. I love Atlanta, but These mountains will always be home.
