This young deer was quietly looking out over the town of #Chemainus on #VancouverIsland this morning when I was going by. One way of saying deer in hul’q’umi’num is haput (hah puht). So I said Uy’ netulh, haput (Good morning deer) and she posed for this photo. #indigenous #language
