Into the final episode of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and I think I am gonna have to blow the cobwebs off my Blogger to say what I wanna say. 500 characters not enough, and putting it there means no one will

Into episode 13/16 in #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and one advantage of having zero interest in the OTP romance (and increasingly loathing the sight of the ML) is that I'm FFing so much I might get the whole Drama finished before bed time 😂

30 minutes ago I said "I'd very much rather have no romance than poorly executed romance or romance that doesn't add anything to the story." After episode 12/16 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang I consier it a PRIME example. The romance feels forced, like it was added 'because it had to be'. A romance with the 2ML would have made more sense, but even better imo would have been no romance at all. The whole Sungyungkwan Scandal shtick could have been dropped, in favour of a true Musketeers vibe

Halfway through episode 12/16 in #CheckInHanyang and it'sstarting to feel like it will be a slog to finish. My low-grade discontent with the ML is bubbling into active dislike. And just as the FL starts to actually have some agency, she surrenders it to him because he says she should, no explanation or reasons given? That, and near-certain impending demise of the one character I REALLY like, is going to make finishing this hard work

So, it's TERRIBLE for her to keep a "secret" that anyone with more than one synapse would figure out in a heartbeat, but it's perfectly ok for him to keep an ACTUAL secret, and to feel no shame in having tried to steal from her? I may have been underwhelmed by the FL up to this point in #KDrama #CheckInHanyang but the ML is actively odious.

@ronsboy67 I love Kim Ji-Eun ♥️. I watched some K-dramas only because she starred in them. However I can see that she's not as pretty as other Korean actresses.

I assume the SFL you're bewitched by is Kim Min-Jung's character, isn't it?
She nailed the role, though I believe she can only play villains or seem-to-be villains because of the composure in her facial expressions.

A big problem with the pivotal plot device in #KDrama #CheckInHanyang is that the box whose super-special spit keys everyone's trying to find IS MADE OF WOOD. Why has no one thought of the xkcd solution? Or did they not have axes in Joseon?

Into ep 11 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang , my SLS is in full swing. SLS normally applies when one prefers the designated 2nd lead and wishes they were the 'winner' in the romance race. In THIS Drama though, my SLS is all about the fact that I'm deeply smitten with the 2FL because the character and the actorare totally outshining the meh 1FL . I've seen Kim Ji-Eun in several Dramas, but she and her character are not moving me. I don't actually CARE about the character, and the actor's not helping

Deep into episode 10 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and Prince Muyeong continues to do an absolutely DAEBAK job of confirming stereotypes about royal intelligence, or rather the inherited lack thereof. He is to smart what the Sahara is to wet. 🙄

The definition of mixed feelings: Into episode 10/16 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and loving Kim Min Jeong's performance and appearance (I don't think she's ever looked more 😍😍) BUT also being convinced that, to paraphrase Prince Humperdinck "unless I am wrong, and I am never wrong" her character is going to die a bloody death.

Kudos to #KDrama #CheckInHanyang for ending ep8 in such an intriguing way that, even at 22:51 with a very busy day tomorrow, it took significant willpower to switch the TV off without starting 9.

Into ep 7 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and loving Kim Min Jeong in it. On a purely superficial level, I find her more aesthetically appealing now than when she was younger. And speaking of aesthetics, her costuming in this Drama is 😍😍. She posted on Insta about how exceptional all her costuming was and as I near halfway, I get why she made a point of posting about it

Into Ep 3/16 of #KDrama #CheckInHanyang and already MUCH less interested in the #SungyungkwanScandal style 'collegiate' hijinks than in the marvelously machiavellian machinations and mystery. Kim Min Jeong is acing it, and it's huge fun seeing the arch-villain of sageuk #TreeWithDeepRoots AGAIN playing a villain in a sageuk-ish story.

I started #KDrama #CheckInHanyang without knowing that Kim Min Jeong was in it. She plays antagonists so well, but I would love it if (against all the odds after 1 ep) she turned out NOT to be this time. As she herself says here:

I will warn you that it hits a bit of a slump for a couple of episodes, but then recovers - I'm once again waiting for the next episode.

It does remind me very much of Sungkyukwan Scandal - in a good way.

Just accidentally watched 1 eps of "Check In Hanyang" - hooked already!

With a bunch of great actors:
- Bae In Hyuk ("Story of Park's Marriage Contract")
- Kim Ji Eun (2nd FL in "Love Next Door")
- Jung Gun Joo ("Secret Romantic Guesthouse")
- Park Jae Chan (The sweet secretary from "My Sweet Mobster")

It's giving me the funny vibes of "Secret Royal Inspector & Joy" already.
