I’m not so sure about this. Wind is Down to normal but still gray and misty.
Minion is making noises about a day at “camp” while HVAC technicians are fitting a new heat pump. Local camp has lots of fenced turn out pens and other cool stuff.
I’ve been pretty lazy. In storm mode. One dash and splash Tuesday. Sleeping in Wednesday.
DW bladder has settled some after BCG treatment. Close to “normal”. He’s planning to take me to camp then trip to DMV for new license.

Dismal Wizard and wrangler showered at 0630. Out by 0700 with scattered cumulus clouds, some already lofting. It’s a big humid with hazy sunshine as publicists types for me. #greyhounds Somehow, the picture of me taking a dump was not used.
Anyway, I’m still comfortable and active. Minion is mostly recovered from his bladder and kidney biopsy procedure. This coming week he gets CAT scanned, and blood drawn for genetic sequencing and checks for hereditary cancer risk factors. #check_in

Yesterday, Redfin nervously watched evening drive-by thunderstorms ignore us.
Thursday dawns somewhat sunny with a stratus layer to the east and clear skies inland. This is a normal coastal summer thing. The FUGLY is back in the air as it is HHH, hazy, hot, and humid. Add sunshine and some shear and you have the makings of afternoon thunderstorms.
Rocky dropped a nice Duce for hook worm checks. DW planning to wander about IKEA after dropping off specimen.

Boffins have been struggling with the forecast as rain overnight caused flooding in The Piedmont. That rain appears to be winding down. Mr Sun is expected to make a morning appearance spawning pop-up thunderstorms. As usual, pop-ups are expected to pop up and stay put causing isolated flash flooding.
Rocky held reveille at 0530q to make a loo run and brief prowl. Garden is secure. No teenager hoodie shuffle-wraiths detected. No hares either.

Ahoy Pacyderm Peeps, Dismal Manor Gang is up and on the prowl. Day dawns with a splash of false hope.
Later Sunday, pop-up thunderstorms are expected to form inland. These will be the slow moving kind that just sit there and rain out. Locally heavy rain and localized flash flooding are possible.
DW planning to go to church and then something undetermined. Lawn needs a mow and hellebores still need planted. Doh. #check_in

Sunday gets off to a treacherous start with a promising sunrise and early morning. To our south, Chantel is about to begin her recurve run brining the rains and lots of humid air to set up late week rains.
Rocky keeps on keepin’ on. Still active and sassy.
DW coughing is diminishing on its own pretty much. Still the occasional period of sticky snot to deal with.
Off to church then more picking up and cleaning up and maybe a heroic effort to get the last of the hellebores planted.

Dismal Manor looks and feels dismal as FUGmometer reaches record high reading. It is necessary to chew each breath well so it will go down. 23C/23C 100% humidity. High latent heat makes air positively miserable. Rocky would not cross the threshold. DW made it onto the porch to take these unedited images. #check_in

DW has the “right” antibiotic. He’s feeling better. No bladder aches. Normal color. Not sure about the smell. No bellowing.
Sinuses decided to have a 0200 riot. Fortunately the aerosol saline stopped the goings on over the course of an hour.
Somehow, Rocky slept in until 0700. He accompanied me to stand sentry while I took the photographs.
Friday is July 4. Plans are to plant the last 3 hellebores. They’ve been abused by standing in puts for 2 months. #check_in

Saturday’s first storm has logged 1/10 inches or 2.5 mm with more rain to come between now and supper. We’re having a sun shower at the moment. And Rocky is getting needy. #check_in. Video is a 20 second pan of the rain too our south.

Dismal Wizard has been constipated for several days following overconsumption of summer cherries. Merlin prescribed a dose of pan-galactic-gargle-blaster (MiraLax).
It’s not so bad. No salts, just polyethylene glycol power to mix in a half-glass of water and sip down over 15 minutes or so. Tastes like ice-water.
Dismal Wizard remains near the loo and fasting until this stuff does its job.
Rocky has sought out high ground until after the eruption.

Wednesday dawns gloriously Dismal. AQI forecast is 100, about 2x normal. Overcast to our east and south is making for a dull sunrise. Mr Sun 🌞 is just now rising above the low cloud layer and casting feeble sun puddles.
Canadian Woman, we don’t want your wildfire smoke!
Rocky has been out for a comfort break and a bit of fescue where it is still growing. Brown spots are invading the lawn. The hot, humid fungus that gets into the cool season grasses.

Canada wild fires continue. And the smoke is present in our atmosphere. PM 2.5 has been creeping up indoors for several days. Today’s forecast is for moderate air quality (77) with outdoor PM 2.5 of 66. Thank you Canada. We’re miserable enough with #HHH #FUGLY Canadian woman, don’t need your wildfire smoke!
Rocky is hacking a lot when he’s out. It’s the smoke. And Rocky’s cooling by panting is impaired by the high humidity. And his lung tumors.

Boffins warn of heat and humidity with pop-up thunderstorms possible.
Today dawned with yellow haze in the eastern skies. Wildfire smoke is likely in the area. PM 2.5 is 2-3 indoors in spite of the efforts of the air filter up front. Radio warns of medium pollen.
Air Con is running well, knock on granite.
Rocky held 6 AM reveille and Dismal Butler has fed him and sent him out on patrol.We’ve not seen the magic bus this morning. Nor any teenager hoodie shuffle-wraiths

Dismal Manor gang is up. Rocky is fed and awaiting his corner. Waffle batter is “resting” while DW does the checking. Rocky is out checking his hares and having some fresh fescue.
The morning was bright with haze and humidity but not a #HHH hellscape. That comes next month. #check_in #greyhounds

Thursday is off to a gray start. I’ve been out forasplash and dash plus some fescue salad after heavyra rains Wednesday.
Thursday’s weather is expected to be unremarkable. Updated 5 day forecast expected by 0900 Thursday.
DW continues to cough and carry on. Wednesday night cold decided to have one last go ar torment. Symptoms gone untill Thursday evening.

Dismal Wizard bellowing has largely stopped. Cold is in the quiet whimpering stage as thick gray-green snot replaces the bright green copious stuff of Tuesday. Still headaches and coughing.
Rocky held 0540Q reveille again. Apparently, it is very important that I observe morning twilight as he keeps getting me up at star time.
Today’s images were nicely gloomy. But not very wet. Light and Morning Edition appear to be primary wake-up cuing.

I woke servants up at 0530 to see the sunrise. It was brilliant, a rarity here at DIsmal Manor. So DW scampered out in knickers iPad in hand to take meh photos of the cataclysm. iPad Air in auto misses. All were overexposed. So much for Apple AI. They needed at least a stop of underexposure to strengthen the colors.

Somehow, we are having a nice evening. I stood sentry for taking of the evening snaps. Now I want my bedtime treat. I’ll ask for seconds around sunset.

The rain has stopped, the dismal continues. Actual 7AM views from our porch. Redfin has her software update smolder on. Bug fixes dropped last night. No new features.
Rocky is doing well and has been out to do Rocky necessities and check for hares and shuffle-wraiths. None of either.
DW redeployed the mole annoyers as the gophers have found a new spot to tunnel. And we have a couple more of the good P3 International annoyers coming.

The echos of the amplifiers still ringing in their heads following the Wood Brother’s concert, our Boffins have pieced together a weather hazards buffet and storm forecast.
Excessive rainfall possible locally. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms possible. Scattered polite thunderbolts ⚡️ happening but without wind 💨 and hail.
Here at the Manor, 14 mm rain to now with moderate rain falling.
Bonus Nor’easter development possible in the Graveyard of the Atlantic.

A promising dawn breaks on the Cape of False Hope. High cirrus clouds foretell an approaching cold front and rain in 18 or so hours. But it is a dry 64F with pollen in the air. Somehow Redfin is clean but Dismal WIzard’s sinuses are in alarm.
Rocky is still comfortable and active. Apparently his tumors are the slow sort. I was really expecting lymph or other symptoms by now. Poo is looking normal. Appetite normal. Breathing is normal.

I woke the servants at 0540 to do important things. No teenage hoodie shuffle-wraiths detected so I’m having some fescue salad while Mr. Sun considers Tuesday’s spectacular. Sun is rising with yellow haze on the horizon and scattered high cumulus clouds.
And it’s 0620 and my dish is still empty! I’ve not been fed. Next servants will want to “shave” and “dress”.
I want my brekkie! And my treats! Now!

I thought it was really important that servants see first light. I held reville at 0530Q. Harsh measure but I was full. I’m light activated so the days of sleeping in to 0730 are over for now.
Servants observed that 0530 horizon was clear. By 0630, the fugly has began to come in. There was a halo of haze and thin clouds around the horizon while overhead was clear.
DW has already checked the signs. Two nice days, Wood Brothers live show at Perry Pavilion then storms.

I got the servants up at 0605Q for loo and brekkie. DW fed me and put the porridge on. As usual, he forgot to set the timer. He took a guess at the time to go and set one. Think he’ll get sludge or stovetop granola bars?
DW has a church pot luck. At 0900 he has to put the sweet potatoes in the oven to caramelize. That takes about an hour at 425 for the starches to convert and the cubes to take on a bit of color. He made this up in the 5qt Dutch oven.

Dismal Wizard got up at 0600 when I called. He took these images while I was attending to perimeter checks and chasing a hare.
Then he went to “shave” before making my brekkie! Insubordinate staff!
The eastern sky had this sickly pink look with notes of peach. We are consulting mariner’s rhymes to determine if this a bad omen. Friday’s pop-ups have the potential for rapid strengthening, hurricane force gusts, and noggin busting hail.

Minion is up. I’ve been fed. Dismal Butler has the coffee made and the porridge bubbling away. Rolled oats with PB Sunday.
I’m actually following minions around the lounge angling for more snacks. I keep trying to convince Dismal Butler that he’s forgotten my chews or my waffle quarter.
I was coughing a bit earlier this week, probably from eating grass. The fescue is still in season. But the pollen is down. DW has less aches and overnight congestion.

Dismal Butler forgot to start the porridge timer Monday. And he added a tablespoon of fresh ground peanut butter.
Our standard morning photos show a hazy partly cloudy sky with sun slipping in under the tree canopy to illuminate the trunks and spreading major branches. As usual, there is the obligatory greyhound bum photo. Oh, and Rocky is remaining in the paddock to check for hoodie teen shuffle-wraiths as School is in session again. And experimental porridge is boiling.
