There's only one person in this boat, but everyone who sees this sunlit picture seems to imagine a different story.
Who do you think he is, and where is he headed?

Hype for the Future 171J: Greater Columbus, Georgia
Introduction Within the State of Georgia, the Counties of Muscogee and Chattahoochee are notable counties whose seats are located at Columbia and Cusseta, respectively, though both counties are actually in consolidated city-county arrangements overall. Today, the community is largely associated with the military presence at Fort Benning, which is located in both counties in the region and within close proximity to the Chattahoochee River opposite the State of Alabama to the west. Was on the hooch at dawn this morning and finally landed a fish. I saw one bald eagle, two herons, and a kingfisher.

First catch of the season. The water in the Chattahoochee was murky last night. I think the Lake Lanier is turning over? I also did not see any fish feeding on the surface I tied on a #10 (ish?) bright pink jiggy marabous streamer. Ended up finding trout stacked up next to the bank. They were striking my fly as soon as it hit the water. Had a couple of strikes, but it has been too long since I had a nice fish on the line. I only managed to land one brown trout. I was set up to swing wet flies with my OPST shooting head, but this was definitely a bank-shot style catch.

I got a big patch of moose skin in the mail, and I'm dreaming of the big legendary brown trout in the 'hooch below Buford Dam. These are tied up on the Gamakatsu T10-6H in size 4; maybe one will draw out a beast.

@claralistensprechen3rd I absolutely LOVE this song & play it multiple times, every Summer!
I like that the lyrics included the respect of essential consent, needed by a woman too 👍
No glorious colors, but I was on the Chattahoochee River at sunset. Got a new fly line in the mail, and I've been out scandi casting my two-handed rod. Only caught 2 fish in 4 trips to the hooch, but the weather has been nice.
Caught this on the way back to the car from a new fishing spot.

Fishing in the rain on Saturday. It was not a productive morning.

The juice was not worth the squeeze. Lots of jungle gym action. I won't return to this stretch of river unless I float it.
Inspired by Shewey's Spey Flies. Got my hands on some rooster coque feathers. I'm trying to reverse tie slips of turkey pre-tail for the wing, but it's not looking good. It is duck season, though, so I was able to order some very affordable mallard bronze on eBay. Waiting on it to show up.

A little rain this morning scared off the other anglers.

The great blue herons have figured out where the trout are stocked. They line up with the anglers to catch fish, but they do not practice catch and release.
