Does anyone know of a good TeamTalk server or telephone chatline for the blind, preferably for adults? I know of the Blind Cafe and Out of Sight, but those are family-friendly. I am not necessarily seeking something explicit, though I'm not against it either. I just feel more comfortable around my fellow adults. However, since I love seniors, if I would be allowed on one of their sites or lines (I am only forty-two) that would be great! If you know of one but it's not for the blind, feel free to include it as well. Please note that I have no interest in Discord, Whatsapp, etc. as I don't use those. I would, however, be willing to try irc, even though that is strictly text-based provided I can find an accessible client. I know the old Accessible/Freedom Chat was good, but it only worked on their servers.

And they aren’t simply not being banned, they are getting PAID. They show these exploitation videos to their supporters, and platforms transact this money-for-hate without hickups.

I've been trying out Matrix for the past few days and I've got to say there's a lot of promise if Discord goes to shit at least for the Text Channels, there sadly isn't much promise when it comes to the type of stuff you can find on there at the moment.
There's one of two things when joining some rooms;
1. There's links to pretty illegal content that shouldn't be about and as a user there's only so much I can do with reporting
2. People that are so far gone down the right pipeline they don't release / care they've become worse than 1940s Germany.
I'm not really sure if people should or would really want to use Matrix / Element in the future if it keeps that way but who knows it could be improved into the future, or maybe I can find an good instance to run off instead of the default matrix.org one.

Chat rooms were so popular back then in 1990s and 2000s, I still remember the experience even though at that time I could only feel a little bit at the end of its popularity in the early 2010s. Somehow I still use some of the remaining chat rooms from 1990s and 2000s like Chat-Avenue or Paltalk.

You know those Google and Facebook buttons to log in into a website, which doesn't belong to those big corps, like small blogs.
What if we would have something like a universal #Fediverse login? Imagine logging in with your Mastodon account to comment on blogs, participate in a chatroom or do other stuff...
I really would like to have a chatroom where everyone can login with their fediverse login.
#Chatrooms are things I really miss on the fediverse or does it exist and I don't even know it's existence?
Is this technically possible with the #activitypub protocol and would it make sense?

The damaging impacts are very real. It’s all consuming and takes my energy away from the really important things in life - maximising quality time with my kids. I also get way behind on household chores. And I spend time in front of the computer rather than exercising and going out to see people in real life. I don’t know anything about #algorithms or #AlGoresRhythm or whatever the youths call it… but I DO know that #mastodon does not make me mad like everything else is curated to do.
So if you remember what a dial up tone sounds like and can properly answer ‘asl?’… take your #advil and learn how to use mastodon… the excitement feels like all those #Chatrooms on #aim we were far too young to be in.

Registration is open to everyone.
To either login or register a new account use any compatible Matrix/Riot client (like https://app.element.io/ ). When doing so you will have to set the home server to “matrix.qoto.org” (it is usually set to matrix.org). However keep in mind once logged in your username will be @user:qoto.org, as the matrix.* prefix is dropped. Similarly any rooms you create will be #room:qoto.org.
The best part is this service is decentralized and federated so you can join any matrix room on any other server. Even cooler you can join rooms on servers that arent federated at all like IRC or gitter.im. So you really can connect to almost any chat server out there all from one identity and server.
NOTE: We will also be bringing up a client, likely the same client run at app.element.io, for the added security. It wont change anything and you can switch clients once we have that up if you want. You can also download the client and use it as a desktop app.

@ben0_o TBH the curating of my online #identity grew out of #harassment experiences I had back in the days of #BBS's, #chatrooms and #Usenet #newsgroups, and also concern while job hunting that there be as little controversy directly attached to my job application name as possible (any hobby will develop drama eventually).
I have no illusions that a little effort would link almost any of my presences but I found through trial and error the techniques that reduced the casual harassment.
