Vergesst den ganzen Nonsens mit dem Natur- und Artenschutz, schreibt der britische Biologe Charlie Gardner von der University of Kent. So wie das bislang gedacht und gemacht werde, bringe das nichts. „Wir brauchen einen transformativen Wandel in unserem Umgang mit Natur, wir müssen uns vom Erhalt der Biodiversität zu einer Überlebensökologie bewegen“, sagt Gardner, dessen radikale Thesen auch hierzulande Ökologen und Biologinnen inspirieren. Doch das Handeln der deutschen und europäischen Politik bewegt sich bisher meilenweit entfernt von Gardners Forderungen.
