@ChrisMayLA6 Yes, it was a huge missed moment. The possibility existed to create two million decent homes, drive down private rents, slash housing benefit payments to private landlords, and have 100,000s of steady well-paid jobs.
If #CharlesKennedy had dried out and stayed as LibDem leader, it might have been possible. Charlie might have persuaded Osborne to go for greatness.
I'd love to believe that a Corbyn govt would have done People's QE, but I am unsure whether they had the iron will.

As a consequence of the Clegg led Liberal support for the Conservatives, Cameron and Osborne were able to push through the austerity measures which have done so much lasting damage to the UK.
In addition, the Conservatives outfoxed their partners on the key issue of electoral reform, so the Liberals effectively got nothing in return for their support of Cameron.
In Kennedy's final election campaign, the SNP distributed this particularly nasty campaign material mocking his alcoholism.
