"Trump is trying to halt the EV charger buildout. Experts say it’s not that easy"
Even if he did it. The only people it would benefit would be SpaceKaren who's Tesla Super Charging Network is receiving funds, but would also benefit from fewer competitors also receiving funds.

"The EV Charging Experience is Often Awful: Here's Why
Explore ChargerHelp's 2024 report on EV charging reliability. Discover key findings on uptime discrepancies, equipment age effects, and how these issues impact driver experience."
by Maria Guerra, Senior Editor-Battery Technology
August 6, 2024"Despite a remarkable increase in public EV charge ports in the US, the electric vehicle charging experience (EVCX) remains weighed down with issues that affect the industry’s reputation. To understand the gaps in charging infrastructure reliability, ChargerHelp analyzed over 19M data points from 2023, drawing insights from its direct electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) operations and maintenance (O&M) experience, Paren’s third-party data, the U.S. DOE’s Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) database, and select utility filings. ..."

Is there an Airbnb equivalent for non-Tesla electric vehicles?
Use case: I’m driving an EV cross-country. I need to recharge. I open an app that shows me nearby residences or businesses who will let me hook my car to their charger for five or ten bucks or whatever.
Note, I am *not* asking whether Airbnb has listings that include charging. They do.
I’m talking about somebody who’d want to locate non-Tesla charging while traveling far from home.
Just curious.

The biggest challenge for widespread adoption of electric cars seems to be reliable, well-maintained, networked charging stations. So what large company could make the investment and build it out? I thought of AMPM mini marts, but they are owned by ARCO-BP, and each mart is franchised. So that would not solve the problem. What other large company with lots of resources could make this investment? It should be complimentary to their current business. #electriccars #AMPM #ChargingInfrastructure

If this is true then I'm not surprised and also hugely disappointed. Car manufacturers are pushing back *strongly* against #euro7 which makes it nigh-on impossible to produce combustion engines (yay) and our fucking governments are bending, FFS. It's convenient for governments to throw their hands in the air: "there isn't enough #ChargingInfrastructure" like they have no control in the matter.
PS, I know, all cars are bad, including #EVs.

One small step for EV owners, including those that don't have a feasible option to charge at home and don't want to be beholden to flaky Electrify America or Blink charging infrastructure.
That said, there is one huge hurdle that needs to be cleared before I give the company any of my money... the owner has to go!
