@Starcade I've had a Level 2 - 240V/50Amp #EV charger in my house since 2017 when I leased a Bolt.
I have #EVGo & #Chargepoint EV charge accounts to but I drove my EVs so infrequently that I seldom needed to use them but I've got them if I do.

Ab Monatsende nur noch Firmen- oder Flottenkunden, wer privat Guthaben auf deren „Konto“ hat (vormals gängige Praxis vor Ladebeginn kräftig was abzubuchen) soll's halt anfordern als Rückzahlung, wofür die sich bis zu 90 Tage Zeit lassen wollen. Abschiedsgeschenk oder Gratiskreditverlängerung für den Betreiber, quasi - trotz einseitig beendeter Geschäftsbeziehung.
Dann will man es anfordern, es klappt 3x trotz jeweils korrekter Codeeingabe nicht - Zack! - Konto gesperrt und kein vernünftiger Weg, es je wieder entsperrt zu bekommen, weil auch der Passwortreset via App fehlschlägt.
Was für eine gottverdammte, gequirlte Scheiße ist das bitte?

Ab Monatsende nur noch Firmen- oder Flottenkunden, wer privat Guthaben auf deren „Konto“ hat (vormals gängige Praxis vor Ladebeginn kräftig was abzubuchen) soll's halt anfordern als Rückzahlung, wofür die sich bis zu 90 Tage Zeit lassen wollen. Abschiedsgeschenk oder Gratiskreditverlängerung für den Betreiber, quasi - trotz einseitig beendeter Geschäftsbeziehung.
Dann will man es anfordern, es klappt 3x trotz jeweils korrekter Codeeingabe nicht - Zack! - Konto gesperrt und kein vernünftiger Weg, es je wieder entsperrt zu bekommen, weil auch der Passwortreset via App fehlschlägt.

War ja klar, dass der Spaß mit 30ct/kWh bei #Pfalzwerke mit #Chargepoint nicht ewig hält, aber 173% Steigerung (zzgl. Blockiergebühr nach einer Stunde) ist mal wieder symptomatisch. Der Laden wäre mir zwischenzeitlich fast sympathisch geworden.

WTF do I do when the #chargepoint app only crashes on open on my phone? How TF do I F'ing charge my car?? What if Exxon or Shell *needed* a *working* app on a mobile device before you could pump gas?? They'd all fail!!
Well, verdict is in: *needing* an app to charge your car is FUCKING STUPID!

I was previously posting about trying to charge an EV while using #LineageOS. I ordered an RFID tag from #Chargepoint, which works well, and I tried their app too. I thought that it wasn't working because of Google Play Integrity, which prevents banking apps for instance from working on unsigned devices. It turns out that I can still log in and even initiate a charge from the app, but because I don't have Google Play Services installed on my device I can't use the map feature to search for charging stations. I don't really care that much about this, since I can use #CoMaps for the same purpose.
I'm aware I can use #microG to get this functionality, and that I can get some level of device signing, but I don't care to.

Needed to make a quick charging stop in Eastham because I forgot to charge to 100% before leaving for Provincetown, and the extra drag from the bike rack made the efficiency worse. Obviously the bike design is not optimized for the aerodynamic when it's sideways 😜
I could charge near Ptown long enough so I can make it home, but 1) Ptown's DC charger is a Tesla supercharger, as much as I don't want give money to Musk, it is also not 800V output, meaning the Taycan only takes around 140-150kw, which is not so much different from the 120kw I can get from this ChargePoint. 2) as I don't drive much, I need to take advantage of the Electrify America free charging when I have the opportunity.
So a quick 9 mins charge from 11% to 22% and we got on the way to the Electrify America in Hyannis. Arrived with 13% SoC and got the free juice to 85%.

I have a Level 2 charger my #ID4Pro #EV at home. I also have a #ChargePoint #EVGo & an #ElectrifyAmerica account.
However, I believe in #BeingPreprared. So, I bought a #J1772 to #NACS #Tesla adapter but I'd only use a Tesla #Supercharger (or destination charger) as a last resort (because I have issues with #Musk ) & haven't even downloaded the Tesla charging app yet, so I can't even use a Tesla charger yet but . . .
Here's an interesting article to those who are interested in #EVs published by #ConsumerReports about their experience charging certain non-Tesla EVs at #Tesla #Superchargers with a J1772 to NACS (Tesla) adapter or with Tesla's #MagicDock . . .

SLOW level 2 AC public charger @ Newport RI transportation center
The chargers are outside the garage so you only pay $1.5 / hour for charging for the first 4 hours. Way cheaper than parking ($2.5 per 30 mins)
But it is very slow. Rated 6.2kw, but I only got peak 5.9kw. Better than nothing though as we wondered around town and had lunch / coffee.

On the way back home from North Shore I thought I’d charge up for Newport trip tomorrow. Stopped at Assembly EA station. There were a swarm of KIA EVs waiting, even though the app shows 1 charger was available…
Pulled up EVgo app and found a very high power ChargePoint station nearby… at Ford Dealer (I use that dealer for my truck 🤣) 320kw - wow! I preconditioned the battery so it was nice and toasty and ready to accept maximum charge. So I drove there. And it worked so well. Though it’s very expensive - greedy car dealers!!
The charging curve was impressive on Taycan. Started at 40% SoC, pulling in 282kw maximum. Still pulling in over 200kw at 72%. This car is a beast.

Currently fiddling with the #ChargePoint Home adaptable amperage in order to get to it charge at a rate my #solarpanels can feed. The default 48A is way more and requires grid supplemental; between 22A-28A seems to be the safest range during the majority of the producing day.
If only there was a programmable way to measure solar generation and adjust it slowly rather than doing it manually throughout the day.

Just installed a #ChargePoint L2 system at home and plugged the #ID4 into it; Sense's power meter shows consumption jumped about 10kW; by comparison the L1 charger it came with was about 1kW. At max output, my #solarpanels put out 7kW and aren't going to be able to keep up with this. The grid wins this round.
