CW: Chants of Sennaar劇情感想
全破以後想抒發一些 #ChantsofSennaar 的故事設定。它在說的是，「精靈」族（因為遊戲中沒有記載他們自稱的民族名，只好用唯一有提到他們的他族，煉金術士的稱呼）建造了通天塔，以結論來說，這是足夠5支民族住在裡面的雄偉巨塔。各族的人前來，住在裡面，不知何故停止交談。停止交談的原因或許是因為通譯人才斷絕吧，察覺到這個警訊的一位精靈族人創造了主角，他注定要從塔的底層開始，一面學習每一族的語言一面往上前進，最後擔任通譯，使各族可以交談。
遊戲中，交談的結果帶來了更多交流、更豐富的生活，以及對部份奴隸階級來說，更自由的生活。
但我不禁會想，這就是結局嗎？戰士不會發現吟遊詩人對他們的奚落與瞧不起嗎？吟遊詩人失去奴隸以後要怎麼過原先那種愜意的生活？煉金術士與戰士的結合很難不讓我想到二戰時侵略國的可怕人體實驗。精靈族當初為什麼選擇自我放逐，他們已經再也不需要了嗎？真相在各族面前平等地揭露以後，他們要開始信仰精靈族嗎？還是假裝他們過去崇拜的那個象徵不是精靈族所創造的？有這麼多的問題，怎麼可能因為懂得對方的語言就世界和平了？我們並不是只因為語言不通才分隔彼此，是因為人類的確有這樣的天性啊。
另外不太明白的部份是，隱修院到底屬於哪一層？理應是屬於一層的吧，但打開「隱修院大門」（這還有一個成就，所以我應該沒有搞錯）後，通往的可是二層的戰士要塞啊。
還有隱修院明明自己在就在一階裡搞階級歧視，認為朝覲者比平民更高級，怎麼好意思跟吟遊詩人的奴隸說「我們這裡平等」啊？ -
真是不可思議，到底是我太容易沉迷，還是這遊戲實在太好玩？我不停地想著「再解一個謎就好」，然後就熬夜（？）到現在，破關了……
這個遊戲總共設計了5支種族、5種語言，爬到最後一層塔時真是諷刺性十足，想想我這麼沉迷，難道不也像最後一層塔的族人一樣嗎？不過爬上最高處之後的發展令我超困惑，一直到結局都還在想「這是真的結局嗎」？但這樣的震撼也滿好的，我不禁想著果然還是離開電腦，回到現實世界好好生活，那才是應有的「真結局」吧。
總之非常推薦給熱愛小品解謎遊戲的同好！到7/10為止的夏特打五折，只要249元！

最近的心情想要玩一些比較靜態的小品，昨天玩完了 #FAR 就覺得還不錯？一開始玩時滿頭霧水，就在一連串的困惑中完成了遊戲，整個不斷前駛的場景彷彿說了什麼故事，但結局卻沒有任何答案，感覺上只是硬生生地結束旅途而已。
接著就選了Chants of Sennaar來玩，當初買的時候超懷疑，這遊戲真的會好玩嗎？評價怎麼那麼高？要讓世界各地使用不同語言的人，都覺得一款「學習語言」的遊戲好玩，不太可能吧？
目前學通了第一種語言即「朝覲者的語言」，玩的過程仍然困惑，不同的語言會有不同的文法，應該也是有那種，把受詞放在主詞前面的語言吧？這樣瞎拼亂湊居然會是正確的，說服力好低（？）。但還是解謎解到停不下來。XD 開始領會為什麼 #ChantsofSennaar 的評價那麼高了。

Onte rematei o Chants of Sennaar, menudo xogazo e que burrada de final, e iso que eu non son de xogos de puzzles.
É un xogo que referencia o mito da torre de Babel, onde vas subindo niveis e atopando xente que fala linguas que tes que descifrar coa axuda dun diario. O concepto en si mola, pero o xogo acaba tendo unha mensaxe máis profunda sobre a diversidade e a comunidade da que non farei spoiler, porque a min pilloume por sorpresa.

Gaming updates from the weekend:
- Picked up the physical, "dead tree" version of the #Shadowdark rulebook at my friendly local game store yesterday. Some of the folks at work have set up a game using the quickstart rules and we've really been enjoying it.
- Finished "Chants of Sennaar" this afternoon. I loved this game (and there are probably elements and ideas I can lift for my tabletop roleplaying games, too).

Turns out that knowing about the Cistercian number system really helped with some of the alchemist puzzles in #ChantsOfSennaar
Further evidence, if any were needed, that I am some kind of giant nerd.

I finally played Chants of Sennaar and it's super fun!
Language puzzles in a fantastical Tower of Babel-esque setting. Since it's an approachable video game, the linguistics never gets super complicated, but they do mix things up enough that it's not just a funny way to write English. Fun story and beautifully colorful visuals too.

A #PointAndClick #puzzle #AdventureGame focused on figuring out a fictional language as you progress through a story seemingly focused on devotees of a sun god.
I had fun with the demo, and I'm both looking forward to playing the full game and seeing more future games about deciphering languages. (#HeavensVault is already in my Steam library, but I haven't played it yet.)
I also really enjoyed the warm and stylized desert aesthetic.

Yesterday, I finished #ChantsOfSennaar, a video game about translation and the cultural exchange it makes possible. It's an adventure puzzle game inspired by the Babel myth where you piece together five different languages with their words and simple grammatical rules from context clues - so if you find a sign post pointing towards a mill with two glyphs, one of them will probably mean "way to" and the other "mill".
The game is ultimately optimistic in tone and the cultures are interesting to learn about - just what I needed these days. Also, the game is part of Steam's current sale. If you're looking for a relaxed puzzle game, give it a try!

I’ve gotten a bit further in #chantsofsennaar, and now the cross-referencing feature is introduced. Even if you don’t exactly know what a word means, you can still identify it’s equivalent in an another language. That said, there are differences. For example, the people/devotees repeat a word for plurals, while the warriors use two different words. The lift/teleporter also allows you to serve as a translator for video calls, and an accurate translation will no doubt open something.
