Wow, #ChantsofSenaar c'est pas simple mais c'est bieng

#ChantsOfSenaar is one of the most compelling & interesting video games I've played in recent years.

Explaining it in too much detail would be spoilery. But the basic starting premise is that you attempt to decode glyphs to translate messages in a language that you don't know.

It has almost no replayability. I would like to wipe my memory of it, go back and play it again.

Since I can't wipe my memory of it, the next best thing would be for the publisher to release a sequel. 🤞

Looks like #ChantsOfSenaar has been added to Gamepass. A definite recommendation if you like games that ask you to engage your brain a little.

Think #ReturnOfTheObraDinn but with a focus on language and significantly more colour.

Not sure what time yet, or what we'll actually be doing. But we've been threatening to stream together on Wednesdays for a while now. It's a lot of fun to be on stream with Nomia & their friends, and I'd really like to make it a regular thing.

There, I finished Chants of Senaar. It was a fantastic puzzle game that makes you decipher languages, and the gameplay is clever. Also, it's pretty. I'm far less sold on the few "stealth/timing" puzzles, which I found frustrating, but thankfully they're still feasible, and there ARE elements that make them more accessible.
Steam tells me it took me 11.8 hours, but I got lost a lot 😅 (my sense of orientation is still shit).

Highly recommended.

Bounced off of #ChantsOfSenaar. It's got that Obra Dinn that I enjoy but the games atmosphere and art style just never grabbed me, and apparently that was a big reason why I love #ObraDinn, #Tunic and #StrangeHorticulture.

Oh well. I can see why others absolutely love it though, so if you're in the market for one of those, don't let me feelings put you off.

@danielholt I've mainly been replaying #Cuphead. Original I just wanted to see how it looked on my Steamdeck, but now I'm 15 hours deep and quickly approaching the end game. One of my favourite games of all time, without a doubt.

I've also spent a bit of time with #ChantsOfSenaar. A game that whilst I think offers some really great ideas, doesn't pull them together as well as something like #ReturnOfTheObraDinn
