I have seen a lot of posts lately about Lost Girl, which makes me happy. I loved that show. It is the closest we will get to a Changeling: The Dreaming show or movie.

The system that came closest to doing what I wanted right out of the box was Ars Magica 4E. Everything about it seemed fairly elegant to me except, ironically, the magic systems.

I've always wanted to combine the basic mechanics of AM with the setting of Mage: the Ascension or Changeling: the Dreaming.

It's far from impossible, but would involve a bunch of notes or adjudication to model some of the concepts from one using the other.

Favorite RPG settings, in no particular order, divorced from system preferences:

* Dark Sun - The early 2E version. I have complex feelings about the novels, but I'd exclude about half (85% of the Prism Pentad)

* Dragonstar - Favorite mix of D&D + space opera

* Gamma World - Several editions had takes I enjoyed but I'd probably go for 4th & 7th especially

* Mage: the Ascension

* Changeling: the Dreaming

RPG A Day 2024 Day 4: RPG With Great Art

Where to begin? There is a lot of great art out there. Even in the 80s, when all we had was B&W line art, there was great art.

For me, the most memorable was the #WorldOfDarkness art of the 1990s, especially #VampireTheMasquerade and #ChangelingTheDreaming. They were enchanting, evocative, and just excellent, with contrast between the bleak & macabre of Vampire with the bright yet with undertones of malaise of Changeling.
