Now a few albums from the Book Of Angels series (aka Masada Book 2), but first allow me a little Wikipedia quote from Zorn's page about this series :

In 2004, Zorn began composing the second Masada Book, The Book of Angels, resulting in an additional 316 compositions. Zorn explained:

After 10 years of performing the first book, I thought "Maybe it'd be nice to write some more tunes." And I wrote 300 more tunes. When I started writing those it was "Let's see if I can write a hundred songs in a month this time." I've been working on these scales and playing these tunes all this time. In the back of my head somewhere are lodged all kinds of new ideas. Let's see if I can come up with 100 tunes in a month instead of in a year. So in the first month, I popped out a hundred tunes; the second month, another hundred; in the third month, a third 100 tunes. I had no idea that was going to happen.

So yeah. He composed 300 tunes in 3 months. 100 tunes per month. The man is a monster.
With that out of the way, here's my first pick :

Book of Angels, Volume 10 : Lucifer

Each volume of this series has the name of a demon. And he chose Lucifer for this one. The main demon. For the main piece. Because this album is a pure masterpiece. Not just among Zorn's discography, but as what I think is one of most important piece of music of this century. It's one of these "music I would bring on a desert island" albums.
The band here is akin to a chamber orchestra with a modern twist, and it definitely sounds as such, with the addition of percussions and guitar.
As often we'll find Cyro Batista on percussions, Marc Ribot on guitar, Greg Cohen on bass, Mark Feldman and Erik Friedlander on violin. The tunes are highly melodic, swinging from jazz to surf to classic. I can't emphasize enough how essential this one is.
