World Social Media Day
Oggi, 30 giugno, torna il World Social Media Day, la giornata che celebra il sorprendente universo dei social network, nato per ricordare quanto queste piattaforme abbiano cambiato il nostro modo di comunicare, informarci, lavorare e persino fare amicizia. L’iniziativa è stata lanciata nel 2010 dal portale Mashable e, da allora, viene festeggiata ogni anno in tutto il mondo.
Se un tempo ci si scriveva lettere, oggi bastano pochi secondi per condividere una fotografia dall’altra parte del pianeta, organizzare una raccolta fondi, seguire un evento in diretta o imparare una nuova ricetta grazie a un video di pochi minuti.
Il 2026 parla sempre più di qualità
La novità più interessante del 2026 non riguarda tanto la nascita di nuovi social, quanto il modo in cui li utilizziamo. Sempre più utenti scelgono infatti di pubblicare meno contenuti ma più autentici, privilegiando conversazioni reali rispetto alla semplice ricerca di “like”. Cresce anche l’interesse verso comunità ristrette, gruppi tematici e contenuti educativi, mentre l’intelligenza artificiale continua ad affiancare creator e aziende nella produzione di testi, immagini e video.
Un mondo sempre più connesso
Nel 2026 gli utenti dei social media nel mondo sfiorano i 5 miliardi, confermando quanto queste piattaforme siano ormai parte integrante della vita quotidiana. Dai compleanni alle campagne di solidarietà, dagli acquisti online alla promozione delle piccole imprese, i social rappresentano uno strumento potentissimo che può creare opportunità straordinarie… purché venga usato con responsabilità.
La sfida? Essere social… davvero
Negli ultimi mesi si è parlato molto di benessere digitale, protezione dei minori e verifica dell’età online. In diversi Paesi si stanno studiando nuove regole per rendere Internet un luogo più sicuro, senza rinunciare alle opportunità offerte dalla comunicazione digitale. Questo rende il World Social Media Day ancora più attuale: non è solo una festa della tecnologia, ma un invito a riflettere su come vivere i social con equilibrio, rispetto e spirito critico.
Un piccolo gioco per oggi
Per celebrare la giornata prova una sfida simpatica:
- pubblica una foto senza filtri;
- racconta un ricordo speciale;
- scopri un piccolo creator da sostenere;
- oppure… metti via lo smartphone per qualche ora e goditi il mondo reale!
Perché i social sono meravigliosi quando riescono ad avvicinare le persone, non a sostituire gli incontri.

Adapting a loan ladder for boat jobs.
We have 82 days left of our 100 day to launch challenge. Busy day. Returned hire car this morning and did food shopping. Then adapted a fantastic loan ladder - more like a staircase :-) The goal is to be able to move it around the boat to give great access for jobs.

Awesome window progress, more horrible weather. Countdown day 86/100
Despite many heavy hail showers we made great progress. Both forecabin windows are fully bolted in. The first forward heads window is fully dry fitted. The boards to hold in the insulation are marked. Also we have had a big clear up and the forecabin is full as organised storage.

A big start on the interior window frames. Worked on the two for the forecabin and preparation for others. This should stop the gel coat crazing by adding stiffness. Plus it edges and supports the insulation. -

We really struggle with applying fibreglass to the underside of things, especially when the shapes are awkward and space is tight. So today was difficult but is done - glassing in the the new deck beam to strengthen the bulkhead where for the inner forestay and windlass loads. -
