Speedweaving chainmaille is awesome, but oh my gods having to pre-open 225 rings is tedious!
That said, I saw someone had made a flag out of European 6-in-1 using like 6,000 rings so I guess it could be worse! 😱

Latest #WIP is yet another Vipera Berus because honestly I just love this weave. The matt black is working beautifully with a range of colours, and especially with this olive green. I just wish I could get clasps in the same colours.

Being a generalist comes in handy a lot. Today I've updated my branding, designed new business cards and stickers, and designed and 3D printed box inserts for my chainmaille fidget cubes!

I've been so distracted lately I've not done any chainmaille, and I'd forgotten about my Saturday Showcase posts. So, a week and and a day late... Japanese Weave.
Japanese weave can be quite a pain to make, but is a very striking weave with a lot of versatility. You can also see the way that warfare techniques informed weave designs, as Japanese's wide flat rings are well suited against the slashing attacks they commonly faced.

That's the pink one done and a green one well under way. I'm waiting on more rings so I can finish the matching pendants, but they'll be hitting my store soon.

For today's Saturday Showcase: bead capture.
Using the same technique from the D20 cage I shared recently, you can create a string of captured beads, making for a really eye-catching look with tons of options between ring colours and bead materials.
I'm still working on finding beads with a sufficiently narrow size margin (get the size wrong and the beads will fall out) so I'm not making any for my store yet, but they'll be landing eventually.
