#mgmtconfig demo by @littleidea from #cfgmgmtcamp is now public:
-
It has been quite a busy time since #FOSDEM and #cfgmgmtcamp and the release didn't go out as planned.
In the meantime, an issue with a new release of django-health-check came up so a new release candidate was spun up with a workaround.
If you'd like to test 1.7.5rc2 ahead of time: pip install --pre ara[server]

@purpleidea Thanks 🙂 Your work definitely nudged me in this direction. I’m chasing the ridiculously restricted embedded side of the world (BSD, QNX, Android, locked-down embedded Linux).
Let’s compare battle scars at #CfgMgmtCamp 2027 😄

As promised at #CfgMgmtCamp 2026 — Sysinspect now speaks events.
Yes, @purpleidea I joined the club. You were doing this for years — respect where it's due 🙂
The deal is simple: sensors emit structured events, then handlers decide what happens next: telemetry, model runs, scripts, pipelines. Or everything in parallel — that's up to you.
Did I mention it also works on BSD over NFS? 😈

Making connections at events is one of my favourite things, and I'm so honoured to meet these amazing folks at the #cfgmgmtcamp women's lunch! Brilliant, funny, insightful, from diverse backgrounds yet share relatable experiences- truly appreciate your stories & feedback ❤️ Cheers to our comradeship!

Small summary of my thoughts after attending CfgMgmtCamp this week. Much inspiration, some uncertainty, but most of all looking forward to the next edition :)
And a big thank you to the organisers, volunteers and sponsors.

Looking forward to hacking on #mgmtconfig more than ever :)

AI, open source, talent, and more, live at cfgmgmtcamp 2026, with Andrew Clay Shafer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t00eZ6Sws0w
This week’s Software Defined Interviews episode was recorded live at #cfgmgmtcamp with Andrew Clay Shafer as a returning guest: Spotting talent, getting innovation adoption and driving use, open source, AI, and developing taste - those are the major topics Andrew and I discussed this week at a live recording. Also, a framework for creating the perfect burger.
Also, if you’re a podcast traditionalist, here’s the audio-only version: https://www.softwaredefinedinterviews.com/119

I attended #cfgmgmtcamp for the first time this year. What a great on-topic, no-bullshit event. A big thank you to the organizers, speakers and sponsors!

Yesterday at #CfgMgmtCamp I attended a talk by @ripienaar on his new #Choria #ConfigurationManagement system https://choria-cm.dev/.
Lots of already usable neat ideas packed into a 2 months old project:
- lightweight shell script integration for idempotent resource management, rather than implementing yet another bizarro DSL
- single-file yaml manifests (data + resources in a single self-contained place)
- all-in-one statically linked go binary that you can stick anywhere and runs really fast
- health checks + remediation loop when using agent mode
- bundle support for common operationsSeems like something worth keeping an eye out for, in the niche between spaghetti shell scripts, slow-ish ansible roles and full-blown OpenVox deployments, especially for "snowflake" one-shot deployments.

Great #mgmtconfig workshop this morning!
Second workshop starting in 5 min at #CfgMgmtCamp

Is anyone actually on Nolto .. I would expect it to have gotten a boost after #fosdem and #cfgmgmtcamp
-
I just realized I missed the #CfgMgmtCamp waffle yesterday 😞 🧇

With #fosdem and #cfgmgmtcamp wrapped up for me I’m flying back tomorrow morning. Thanks to everyone for the amazing talks and creating such a strong community.

At #CfgMgmtCamp Matt Davis is sharing his "Love Letter to Ansible Core 2.19" to show you exactly how the latest features will simplify your life. 🔹 The Revamped Template Engine: Significant improvements to how your logic is processed. 🔹 Saner Error Handling: Say goodbye to cryptic failures; 2.19 is here to help you debug. 🔹 Modern Foundations: Understanding the "why" behind the latest core evolution.
If you want to stay ahead of the curve and move to the latest release with confidence. -
After a quick waffle break,Kostiantyn talked about Ansible Style Guide at #cfgmgmtcamp. Helping us to clean up #Ansible technical debt jump to ansible-core 2.19. Take away🔹 Data Structures: Why you should prefer lists of dictionaries (and the filters to manage them). 🔹 Logic Flow: Proper usage of set_fact and Jinja conditionals. 🔹 The 2.19 Roadmap: Identifying removed functionality before it breaks your CI. 🔹 Code Cleanliness: Handling multi-line strings and task imports vs. includes.

*plots the logistics to riding to #CfgMgmtCamp from Sheffield*
Well, part of the way, London->Dover, Dunkirk->Gent. Certainly would be training for #WeRideFlanders. But also seemingly more expensive than just driving (and fewer options to stock up in the French supermarket on my return).

Life of a SRE. I love this pic by
@attachmentgenie @cfgmgmtcamp .
It only shows how unsustainable this screen gazing approach is, with today's #microservices #cloudnative systems.
