Le système prend plus de ressources que #budgie mais il répond bien alors je vais garder les deux configurations au cas où. C'est l'un des avantages que j'apprécie avec le pingouin:choisir .
Le fond d'écran vient de Budgie. J'ai aussi manuellement rajouté les couleurs du Terminal mais ça c'est probablement dû à ma configuration maison.

Donc voici mon petit dernier, un autre #thinkpad mais de la série Yoga avec écran tactile et stylet manquant 😔 . Pour 100$ usagée et en bonne condition, c'est acceptable.
On parle quand même de quelque chose de plus budget avec un processeur #celeron à quatre coeurs frette sec. Les performance sur #kde étaient acceptables mais avec #lxqt , c'est un peu plus fluide et c'est bien (et la fonction tactile est A1!)

I guess this is enough for tonight. Most of the Socket 370 Celerons CPUs (Mendocino and Coppermine-128) have been tested. Found one dead due to corrosion and broke off one pin while straightening. Pentium III stash will be handled in future... #retrocomputing #cpus #intelinside #celeron

After getting the #AMD #Ryzen9 7900, I have a big urge to install #Gentoo just to see how the 24 threads will handle it.
I still remember spending over 3 days compiling KDE3 on the first machine I tried Gentoo on, a 300MHz #Celeron single core, single thread CPU. And I don't think I had even 1GB of memory at that time. -

Looking for some opinions. I have an HP laptop with a #Celeron N4020 - a *blazing* 1.1GHz - and 4GB RAM. For some unknown reason, this shipped with Win 11. Watching it "run" this OS is like watching NASA attempt a space launch with a wrist rocket and a running start. I've seen faster bureaucracies.
I'm going to put #Linux on it, but the question is, which distro? I'm running #Debian at home, but I wouldn't necessarily have to do everything the same.
Obviously this device will not be doing any heavy lifting; perhaps just something to do a bit of office work while visiting the local coffeehouse. Simplicity would be valued. -

If you want to be a Core 2 Duo, you can become a Core 2 Duo🤗🤩 I have overclocked the Celeron E1400 2Ghz to 2.55GHz. And it is stable with a cheap computer. The Motherboard is a Foxconn g31mxp.
The Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 scores 694 points in Cinebench 9.5, the Celeron E1400 705 -
Got the replacement board for the #Celeron #beigebox today and they actually threw in my second #Tualatin, a SL5ZF and I thought, why not leave it there, it's doing a good job 😆 Quirky BIOS in these things, you have to enable USB keyboard or weird things happen, including video corruption and of course no keyboard action! It's all hooked up to the box, I've got some hardware flash updates to do now.

It's all hooked up to the box, I've got some hardware flash updates to do now.

Did some #retroshopping today, on it's way to me is a mystery #Celeron box from the early 00's - the mystery is a) what celeron it is and b) is the celeron actually functional since the seller decided not to test it and I got it cheap therefore. My suspicion is that due to dry thermal paste the processor has cooked itself so I've obtained a replacement. The board is here: https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/msi-ms-6368-ver-5.0. The attraction of the sale is that optional #ISA slot is there (see 2nd photo).
