I despise the framing of fail safe incidents being dangerous but putting that aside things really aren't looking good for Cedar Point. I genuinely think amusement parks in the US are never going to be the same after the last year of Six Flags and Zimmerman's leadership.

Alton Towers fans sure are an interesting bunch. They cosplay anthropomorphic roller coasters. I've even seen someone with a Smiler fursuit.
Imagine Cedar Point fans doing that. Picture me cosplaying Magnum XL-200. That'd be rad, right?

Thinking about #DisneyWorld at random. I was there in '04 and one of my favorite things was that the lines all had themes and stories.
As far as rides, atmostphere, or price, I prefer #DollyWood or #CedarPoint, but not having to stand quietly in a line for an hour with nothing to do or think about is nice. Cedar Point didn't have that last time I went, nor did Dollywood.

Someone on ebay was selling a huge lot of used theme park maps for $5. Took the bait and bought them. There were definitely a few duds in there, but also some amazing gems from the 1990s.

Cedar Fair, and especially Cedar Point, are the most instrumental part of making me so glad that Hersheypark is my home park. I know people have their complaints but nothing is greater than being able to go to a park and not be nickel and dimed over things such as "rider safety".
Cedar Point should be ashamed of themselves.

Cedar Point's Top Thrill 2 won't reopen this year after running for only a few days after its debut this spring.
The armchair engineers at Coasterbuzz (who usually end up being right) suspect it's in part because of a different center of mass on the new Zamperla trains.
Comparing videos from the old Intamin trains on the original ride to videos of the new version there seems to be more "roll" on the trains, which suggests that at very least the seats are higher from the track.
Observations of sensors placed on one of the trains being used in test runs seem to indicate they're testing stress on the chassis of the trains, possibly meaning there were cracks either forming or potentially forming.
Best of luck to Cedar Point and Zamperla while they try to make this cursed penis-shaped thrill ride work. I swear, the site of that ride must be the site of some horrible ancient battle or something because the spirits seem big mad about anything there actually working right.

Pretty sure at this point, Cedar Point extended their season just so they could maybe get TTD2 open for at least a second week this year.
