Played Cataclysmdda for the first time in a while.

Secret agent helicopter start. Decided to make towards the helicopter base as it seemed like a cool potential base.

Found an RV along the way as well as a military road block where I picked up a trusty M4A1 and ammunition.

Eventually got to the Helicopter Base, and leeroy Jenkinsed into the zeds... by which I mean I rammed half of them with my RV and then shot the remainder. Also got some night vision goggles but they chew through batteries almost impossibly fast.

All in all a great first day to the cataclysm.

Bin gerade auch mit meiner #Dreamcast Anwendung vorwärts gekommen. Das abspielen der #CDDA Tracks funktioniert so, wie ich das erwarte, wenn man es auf der echten #Hardware laufen lässt. Im #Emulator, in diesem Fall #Flycast, funktioniert es nicht richtig. Mal einen Bugreport einreichen, bzw. vielleicht auch mal in den Quellcode reinschauen und ggf. einen Patch einreichen. Mal schauen.

Diese dusselige #CDDA Wiedergabe auf der #Dreamcast macht mich wahnsinnig! Ich habe einen einzelnen Track, den ich wiederholen möchte, wenn er abgespielt wurde. Dafür frage ich über die #KallistiOS #API ab, ob der State noch auf "Playing" steht. Wenn nicht, soll der Track wieder gestartet werden.
Gestartet wird der Track ohne Probleme, allerdings dauert es nach dem Track 2:30min bis er wieder neu startet. Kann mir derzeit echt nicht erklären warum.

Prueba superada. He volcado (ripeado) el mismo #CD con #cyanrip y me ha sacado un #FLAC con idéntico sonido.

Para verificarlo he importado ambos FLAC en #Audacity, uno de ellos lo he invertido (en catalán, «capgirat», el efecto «inverteix» cambia el orden temporal de las muestras, no su amplitud). Después mezclar y renderizar en una pista nueva. El resultado tenía que ser silencio y silencio es lo que se obtiene.

Trouver des infos dans #cdda c'est pas trop la joie. Par exemple, pour établir mon camp, je cherchais quels équipements je devais construire pour entreposer mes nombreuses affaires.
J'ai utilisé NotebookLM, uploadé le fichier furniture.json renommé en .txt, puis avec un prompt j'ai obtenu une magnifique table triée par contenance.

Là c'est pou un jeu, mais l'analyse de json devient triviale avec les IA.

Gonna livepost my game of CDDA.

I chose the Friends to the End scenario. Where you are thrown into the world with your friend NPC who is standing over the body of your other friend... someone who turned zombie.

You start with a car in mint condition, some fuel. Some supplies. A shotgun and some ammunition.

In short, this is one of the easiest starting scenarios. This was my spawn. City to the east of me, campsite to the north of me... lots of forest.

Are there any terminal-based MMOs? Modern ones, still maintained? Like, a game that I can play with a large number of strangers, over the internet, in the #terminal?

I know about #CDDA, and #DwarfFortress (which isn't really text mode anyway), but those are single-player games, just like #NetHack is too (even though it has "net" in its name).

I don't really want it to be _text_ based (i.e. everything just in prose), ASCII-art graphics would be nice.

The diary feature in #cdda is honestly a really cool idea, it's a nice extra way to get in character that would be cool to have in more games. I don't think it does anything useful, but it's nice to feel extra immersed. (It also helps my forgetfulness.)

Забавный случайный факт: частота дискретизации формата Audio CD составляет 44100 Гц. Частота Найквиста для слышимого звука примерно вдвое превышает верхний предел человеческого слуха, который составляет 20 кГц.

Так почему же частота дискретизации CDDA больше, чем 40 кГц, но лишь немного больше?

Разложение на простые множители числа 44100 это 2²•3²•5²•7², что дает массу возможностей для дешевого в вычислительном отношении даунсемплинга и снижения скорости воспроизведения. 😁

... I don't know. I've run out of games I've played and liked. I'm not a gamer, although I do enjoy occasional gaming. The CoD grind is real, even on a phone.

Are there any FPS phone games out there which are good? I might need to expand away from cod.

Also I have not played CDDA in a long time although it was my go to game for a while. There's only so many ways you can survive zombies before you get bored.
