Sind CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) und CCU (Carbon Capture and Utilization) gute Lösungen zum Klimaschutz? Laut Weltklimarat #IPCC kann vor allem DACCS (Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage) langfristig eine Rolle spielen – allerdings erst, wenn die CO₂-Emissionen bereits weitgehend gestoppt sind. Für sogenannte schwer vermeidbare Industrieemissionen wird CCS diskutiert, realistisch bleibt jedoch vor allem die Zementindustrie, und auch dort nur ergänzend zu Recycling und Materialeinsparung.
CCS ist sehr energieintensiv: Abscheidung, Reinigung, Verdichtung und Transport von CO₂ erhöhen den Energiebedarf deutlich. Bei Gaskraftwerken müsste mehr Erdgas verbrannt werden, was zusätzliche Emissionen verursacht. Zudem ist die dauerhafte CO₂-Speicherung unsicher; langfristig gilt nur chemisch bindendes Gestein wie Basalt (z. B. auf Island) als verlässlich.
CCU ist teuer und führt meist dazu, dass das gebundene CO₂ später wieder freigesetzt wird. Insgesamt sollten CCS und CCU nur begrenzt gefördert werden, da sie den schnellen Ausstieg aus fossilen Energien nicht ersetzen können.

Eigentlich war ich mit der Homematic ja zufrieden. Funktionierte alles wie es soll. Bis vor einer Woche.
Es hat sich meine CCU3 verabschiedet miniSD defekt <— wer nimmt ständig Schreibvorgänge auf eine miniSD vor??? 😱
CCU3 mit der ursprünglichen Firmware ausgestattet - 1 Woche später die Geräte Stand 2023 (!!!) sind wieder da - neuere Back-ups lässt die CCU3 nicht mehr zu… 🤬
Jetzt kämpfe ich darum die „neuen“ Geräte wieder anzulernen was sich schwieriger als geplant darstellt. 😮💨
Wenn das die Lösung ist will ich mein Problem zurück. 😖

ArcelorMittal may shutdown its flagship "Smart Carbon" project Steelanol in Belgium 🇧🇪⛓️🏭
What's missing from most news stories is that Steelanol - an Ethanol⚗️ plant using technology from Lanzatech - has a "sister project" called Torero, a biocoal plant🌲🪨🏭. It appears Torero is not working as expected, which may explain some of Steelanol's problems.
