🎉 Breaking news: someone tried to invent perpetual motion by combining SPICE simulation, an oscilloscope, and Claude Code—spoiler alert, it didn’t work. 💡 Turns out, translating electrical engineering into "Claude-speak" is a bit like teaching a cat to fetch: adorable, but ultimately pointless. 🐱⚡

Dogs teach you loyalty. Cats teach you that a box is always better than the expensive toy inside it.

I am very much hoping that tomorrow will be the last working day of the year for me. I'm waiting for at least one batch of invoices to process. Spouse thinks they'll come in over the weekend, which, rude, but whatever will be will be (etc).
For Christmas this year, my mother-in-law gave the kids a budget to predominately spend on clothes. Kids opted this year to get me to wrap them and put them under the tree rather than wearing them as they come in, so they have quite a pile this year. I said to youngest a moment ago (upon her noticing more things under the tree) that they hopefully will have the Amazon experience -- ordering something and promptly forgetting what it was, thereby getting a nice surprise.
As for me, my 'surprises' so far are environmental improvements -- namely a new plug tower, and a new USB charging hub. My area feels much nicer for it.
What else... Vivi knocked a few branches off of the Christmas tree (it's artificial), and I put them on the couch for spouse to put back on the tree. So Vivi bedded down in them and took a nap. Fiiiiine, if it keeps you from climbing the damned tree. 😅 Halo has also liked curling up in it, so I made sure to scoot it down the couch so they have that, and my mother-in-law still has a place to sit.

And so, like all good things, it's the last day of our week off. But it's been a relatively sedate and slow paced day, which, win.
Of course, I started the day having found that my new chair had been christened by the cats. Which is to say, someone took my yarn off my desk and wrapped it around the chair. Which really self, I should remember to put it away safely to prevent this. But at least the unwrap wasn't *too* bad, and is encouraging me to knit until it's worked through.
My new laptop has entered the awaiting for dispatch phase as of this morning, so hopefully sooner rather than later. I'm sure that spouse will update me when that changes to dispatched, and then it'll be waiting for our DPD guy to bring it. Probably him. He usually brings the cooler stuff, ha ha. So maybe tomorrow, maybe Sunday. We'll see.

My back is apparently super angry. In a similar vein, however Vivi is sitting on top of the cat tree makes him look like his back and head have separated. #catlogic

Ah, the eternal #struggle of the #sysadmin trying to outsmart feed readers and crawlers—like trying to teach a cat algebra. 🐱➕📚 Yes, please, enlighten us with your groundbreaking discovery: polling every 10 seconds is excessive. 🤯 If only you could configure *real life* with a cron job! ⏰💥

Cat weather appreciation update: still too hot to go outside.
But apparantly ok to lie on the windowsill in baking hot sunshine and cook oneself!
