😺 As it is National Cat Day seemed like the right time to post this.
CatBus (ネコバス, Nekobasu), from My Neighbour Totoro. This 1988 children’s film is an iconic Japanese piece of pop culture.
The bus appeared here sometime between 2005 and 2010, and appears to have been a diner or restaurant.
Here I am, cheerfully posing next to CatBus! Little did I know, he would disappear only a few months later. RIP CatBus, wherever you are 💓

Does anyone know of any places in #Tokyo or #Kyoto that have a big #Totoro or #Catbus? This is a poor photo example from a shop by the Sky Tree last year, but looking for other options that aren't the Ghibli Museum or Park.

It’s a transit kitty day as I took Reeses (16 yo) to the vet for her annual visit using @kingcountymetro routes 60 & RapidRide H! Reeses wasn’t thrilled about being in the carrier, but she’s ridden the bus many times. Plus, the bus dropped us off cat-ercorner from my apartment!
