This week's exciting forays into computing:
🟠 Finally replaced Windows 11 with Debian on my main computer.
🟠 Got one of my many Raspberry Pis to boot entirely from the network greatly reducing my use of stupid SD cards or expensive NVME drives.
🟠 Related to the above, started building my own smart doorbell where no data leaves my network.
🟠 Re-learned the ancient art of making network cables.

We discovered an unused and (at the remote end) unterminated #CAT6A cable between the two buildings. After some cable debugging (the terminated end at the patch panel had one missing connection), I mounted new #keystones at both ends and thus we could remove the 60GHz PtP APs.

I’m in the process of re architecting my home lab and network. It’s been too long since I did too much exciting with it.
So far I’ve ripped out my #ubnt #usg and replaced with #pfsense. Ram #cat6a everywhere. About to order a 10Gb switch and upgrade to wifi 6.
#homeassistant is on a dedicated network with all sorts of fun going on.
Anything exciting I should be looking into?
