What are you playing this #weekend? Mine is probably #CastlevaniaBelmontsCurse, out since 15.10.2026 and the first brand new #Castlevania in years, made by the studio that spent years building the updates for #DeadCells.
A #Metroidvania by people who know their craft, I want to see that.I also wanted to start #Shogun2 in the Complete Edition. That is off the table: #SEGA pulled it two days after launch, saying it does not meet their own standards. A #remaster you can skip, sadly.

I had preordered #CastlevaniaBelmontsCurse on #Steam and was excited to play it on release day yesterday. But the game was buggy and had a lot of issues. The game launching to a black screen because of my high-refresh rate display and requiring a refresh rate downgrade to 60 Hz was just the tip of the iceberg. I tried playing with my XBOX controller and it stopped working often and also ran into a bug where Rose kept running to the right even without any input. Requested a refund 😔 #Gaming

#Ratatan on 15.10.2026: a Patapon successor from the same creator, rhythm commands plus roguelite. Patapon was strange in the best way back then, and that is what I want again.
#Boltgun2 on 14.10.2026: a boomer shooter in the #Warhammer40k universe. Shooters are not my thing as a rule, but this retro style still gets me.

Belmont's Curse feels like it's following the post-Hollow Knight trend of more difficult combat in Metroidvanias, but I did manage to defeat the game's first (and the demo's only) boss after a handful of tries.
Had to rebind/swap the Interact and Dodge buttons for it to be playable, though. Doesn't have quite the gamefeel/jump physics I'd expect, but enjoyed it.
Keeping my pre-order.
